If we slip up and finish 6thwith Portsmouth finishing 5th and win the FA Cup - then 6th would be good enough for UEFA cup entry. :)

I didn't actually think that would happen, but according to BBC;

Should a team finishing in the top four in the Premier League win the FA Cup (still technically possible in Portsmouth), the Uefa Cup place would go to the team finishing sixth in the league.

If Portsmouth win the FA Cup and finish fifth in the Premier League, the sixth-placed team in the league would enter the Uefa Cup, not the FA Cup runners-up.

Yep, because the UEFA deem the winner of domestic cup has to take up there place through that route unless they won a possible route to CL through league, so we could still get through this way.

I know what your saying but I would think it bittersweet for all the hard work we have done this year to end up sixth.

I have to admit I'm pulling for Pompey to win the cup for insurance but we need to stand up and be counted against Villa,Chelski and Arse. So we can finish the season with some vim and vigor and be apealing to a couple of world class recruits.

That's what i think as well, and it's still too early to give up 4th place, it's not impossible just yet, we have Derby and Birmingham, which is 6 pointer hopfully and RS has Arsenal next, so i expect them drop points.

Yeh without Torres that team is very vunerable. I don't wish bad things on anyone but a run of games without him could be catastrophic for them in my mind. Crouch has to be let go next year.

Clinging to a four spot but most likely our dog fight is for fifth against Deffo and the chime boys.

6th will not be a European spot. Because the league UEFA place will be going to us in 5th. Popmey will have to win the FA Cup if they want Euro action next season. Simple as.

I'm not interested in 6th tbh, we've come this far and if we let it slip we don't deserve it.

I agree with Cal here. we worked this hard to get where we are. 5th spot is ours to lose, not portsmouth's to win. Only we can [Poor language removed] it up.
