Totally agree with that. Think there's been an over-reaction from some Everton fans on their performance. It wasn't fantastic but it wasn't as bad as whats it been made out to be.

West Brom was well prepared yesterday. The hoof ball plan to Fellaini was not working but Moyes was too stubborn and he has chosen to stick to his plan and decided against from changing it. I think Moyes was to blame by bringing the wrong sub in Hibbert and we handed the game to West Brom. If not, we would have got at least a point knowing that we would sit back (same old Moyes). However, Moyes was wrong again by bringing attacking minded subs after 60 odd mins. The changing point was the moment when Fellaini missed a sitter then they scored straightaway or else the game could have gone other way. West Brom deserved to win yesterday. It was Moyes who chose to play average player like Hibbert and push Neville to CM (very very wrong decision indeed as we have better players on the bench). I was disappointed because I know we should have got a point if Moyes just being the same old Moyes.

We're expected to win our home games, and we did.

No offence to WBA, but it's a bad return because the same team beat Manchester United a fortnight ago, and last season we won at West Brom.

It was a dull game and 0-0 was written all over it but then again our defence let us down. I really hope Heitinga will return and replace Distin asap.

You won a game of football which quite frankly was pathetic and was gifted to you by Paul Scharner heading the ball the wrong way. Otherwise, 0-0 would have been incredibly fair.

The same team might have beaten Man United, but that doesn't make it a poor return because you lost to a well drilled side who are full of confidence. Every team has blips along the way and you had one yesterday.

I rarely saw us hoof it to Fellani. We kept it on the ground and not very well yesterday.

Agree with that. It was never going to be an easy game and I said before that I would be very happy with a point, especially if WB were playing as well as they can. Only thing I would question is the discipline on the two CDM's, a lot of dodgy challenges and no cards - although that can't explain us falling apart for the final third of the match.

It is pretty simple really.

Before the Man Utd game if somebody had asked me would I take 6 points from the 1st 3 games I would have taken them.

If somebody asked me after the Villa game I would have told them to **** off.

In conclusion, I am still happy with the start as I thought it was only the 2nd half that we did not perform on Saturday so for me we can still be positive about the 1st half at least. The next few games are still very winnable and if we continue to take 6 from 9 for the rest of the season we will be extremely extremely happy come May.

Yesterday is a case of dust ourselves down and get on with it in 2 weeks time.

In my head, we lost to United and beat West Brom and have still had the start I would have realistically expected at the start of the season.

I still think a point should've been contested. Individual mistakes with man-marking gave them Long's header to the bar as well as his goal. Replacing Gibson with Neville in this type of game was always going to be a bit hit-and-miss, he's good at covering positions and cleaning but too often we get sat to deep. I wonder why Junior wasn't considered as he seemed to like his tackling a fair bit and gets around the pitch far more.

Also, Osman for Mirallas could've been done a lot sooner as he brought pace and the inventiveness that Osman seemed to be lacking. A few too many games in to little time for the players serving as Moyes' lynchpin?

I'd have been happy with a point from the hawthorns as I always expect them to battle it out, especially at home. The Villa victory was years overdue and they look lower half this season while WBA will probably lounge somewhere mid-table based on the first 3 performances.

if your basing it on the first 3 performances they will be top6.
clark is basically playing how moyes used to set up his teams in previous seasons, good organization, high work rate and press players forward on the counter.
