Yeah, I think so too. Especially with potentially the likes of Leicester/Leeds/Southampton back up, who are all probably capable of remaining in the division

I would rather take my chances with the current points total than a transfer ban and i hope our lawyers haven’t been arguing for one.

Looking at the promotion / relegation picture the PL will be much stronger next year and the Championship weaker. Trying to stay up next season with less than what we have now would probably be harder than staying up this season from the current 20 points.

Even if the worst happened this season, if the end goal is PL football at BMD in 2025 we’d still have a year in a relatively weak Championship to bounce back (even allowing for the resulting fire sale to balance things financially). Relegation next season would be an even bigger disaster.

Would there even be a 'next season' if we dropped this year? Pickford, Branthwaite and Amadou probably covers about 60m of the 100m lost after relegation. PL could withhold parachute payments, which would result in a -12 point deduction for breaking the EFL's own rules on losses.

And that's not to mention the still-mounting debts from loans to build the stadium. Weak 24/25 champ or not, Silk's performance literally makes or breaks the club.

Well it depends how the case has been argued. I imagine it'd be no surprise to anybody if the second charge isn't mentioned by Supersilk. I imagine that would complicate things a tad.
