6 + 2 Point Deductions

I cannot see how that won't be consciously or unconsciously be taken into account...whether that be 'yes we get them relegated' or 'is the offence something really that important to relegate a club over'. All penalties should be given months in advance to the season being finished (including any appeals) and if it cannot be then the penalty is carried forward to the new season.

I doubt if we’re safe by 5 points, they will give us a 6 point penalty and relegate us.
That would open huge can of worms

The idea of a rolling three-year period is that it gives a club some leeway if they have big losses in one year. If you have one year with big losses you have two years to put it right. Instead of doing that the board tried to blag it and got caught.

That's a stupid argument.. it's a rolling 3 year period, 2 of which we've already been punished for yet they are lumping them in again.. can you give me one example anywhere in the universe where you can be punished twice for the same crime..if they reviewed our finances previously and punished us then that evidence would be thrown out of any real court before its even been fully presented. We've been punished and so should beginning a new 3 year period.
 

I can’t for the life of me see how this works as a defence:

Forest’s defence is expected to be based around their decision to delay the sale of Brennan Johnson to ensure they received the highest price possible for the academy graduate, whose fee would, in PSR terms, be deemed pure profit. The forward was sold on deadline day last September for £47.5m to Tottenham, two months after the cut-off point for complying with PSR. If Forest had sold Johnson before 30 June, the club believe they would have received a lower fee. Although that would have put them the right side of the allowed losses, they are expected to argue it was better for their long-term health to maximise their profit and make them more sustainable.
 
I seriously think we should protest in the same manner as Reading fans. Let's get a game or two suspended in order to get our point across. Clearly our efforts so far haven't had sufficient impact.
What's the worst that can happen? Kick us out of the PL. Well they're doing that anyway.
 

So am I right in thinking that the PL changed the accounting period after this season had begun (i.e. this charge isn't based on a full years report)?

If so, isn't that immediately inviting ourselves and Forest to appeal, as the rules have been changed at an unfair juncture?
