I’ve seen loads of blues saying that it’s ok because the report states we got no “sporting benefit”, but it doesn’t say that.

Yeah just looking at it and the relevant phrase is "sporting advantage cannot be quantified but must be inferred". So by inference we have obtained an advantage, which isn't what I've seen some saying.

What makes it interesting for any compensation claim is that if a club wants to claim we would've been relegated instead of them the sporting advantage MUST be quantified. Something their judgement says the commission cannot do.

Can anyone explain what this actually means, and give an example of a penalty that doesn't punish the fans?

I just cant see how suing the club could be proven as the reason another club dropped. I may be wrong, but plenty of clubs have been done for financial stuff over the years. I cannot recall a single time other clubs have sued for recompense. Did Celtic sue Rangers for half a dozen SPLs? Or Juventus by other Italian teams?
