3 weeks jury for a 3 day trial, happens all the time
I don’t agree about the self-publicity, I think he’s just venting frustration like the rest of us.This is just him trying to garner publicity for himself. It’s actually quite a big job to do this appeal properly. Takes really quite some time to write up, fact check, check again etc….
It hasn’t been a ridiculous amount of time,
Be patient.
There are many complaints, but this is a silly one
Juries don’t have to provide lengthy and detailed written explanations for their decisions though.3 weeks jury for a 3 day trial, happens all the time
They can’t have as much as time as they need in this scenario though the integrity of the league is ruined if it goes on much longer because nobody knows where they stand. Last week people were saying Luton would be annoyed if we got points back but in a way they’re the biggest winners if we do because they’ve been kept interested by the deduction. If they’d found themselves 5 or 6 points adrift weeks ago they might have lost their heads and gone with a whimper but with us so close they’ve had reason to keep going thinking they have a chance the longer it goes on the harder it gets to say that it’s been a fair season.I agree in general about the secrecy, there's no need for it to be so secretive and just fuels the feeling it's a total stitch-up.
In terms of timescales though I just don't see what can really be done. The commission, quite rightly, decide how long they need to reach a proper decision, just as a jury would get as much time as they need to deliberate. So the PL can't come out and say "this'll take two weeks max" because it's not for them to dictate, and nor should it be.
I’m not even sure the time between verdict and appeal was too long either. We hired a new lawyer. They need time to understand the case, put the argument together (which probably included speaking to everyone involved etc).I don’t agree about the self-publicity, I think he’s just venting frustration like the rest of us.
But yeah, I think he’d be justifiably as angry if not more if the PL were trying to dictate to the IC how long they had for their deliberations as that would be an obvious breach of due process.
The time taken between the verdict and the appeal being heard was too long but the deliberation stage can’t and shouldn’t be sped up to compensate, as frustrating as it is.
The longer it goes on the less likely it’s going to be good news.
Steve Round bouncing off the bench with his Bluetooth headset on like Ace AttorneyThis is where we find out that the members on the commission are Sam Allardyce, Frank Lampard and Steve Round
If by some miracle we have got a very positive result, the knock on effect to the second charge might be more complicated than the appeal itself. And we want a banger of a press release from the PL exonerating us.![]()
Yes, that is the more likely scenario imo. If was bad news they wouldn't have been able to wait to give us it and would have enjoyed issuing the pain. The fact that it is taking this long says to me that they already know and are purposely delaying telling us whether it be so they can work out how to try and save face or to just cause us more pain by way of making us wait longer. For who?
Maybe they have to give us most back and are trying to decide how to save as much face as possible
The flip side to that is they are sticking to the 10 points but are taking their time so thatYes, that is the more likely scenario imo. Or the Liverpool Ciy Region mayor. GobshiteHe’s a good egg Andy Burnham. Not just because he’s a Blue, but in general.
He’s down more fighting our corner in the last 6 months than our board has since before Heysel.
There is no integrity now, none at all. They can’t have as much as time as they need in this scenario though the integrity of the league is ruined if it goes on much longer because nobody knows where they stand.
