6 + 2 Point Deductions

The ESL will happen at some stage, the question is do you want Everton to take advantage of the transition (something we failed to do with the PL) or be a late comer to the party ?

UEFA have made their own bed - when Man City, PSG, Chelsea & Monaco were building top sides they appeased their old boys network of Real, Barca, Bayern, Liverpool, Utd, Arsenal, Juve etc by bringing in FFP to try and pull up the ladder and stop even more clubs from being bought out by rich playboys and competing.

What UEFA didn't expect to happen was that the old boys Cartel who they have done nothing but try and appease have become more and more greedy and are now threatening to walk away for more money elswhere.

Be quiet scab.

I concur. Who can forget when Oumar Niasse received a retrospective ban for alleged simulation after he was pushed in the penalty area against palace. Remains the only PL player to my knowledge to have this kind of action taken against them. Always Everton

West ham player got done aswell. Fornells or something

Lanzini it was who was given a two-game ban after being found guilty of diving to win a pen against Stoke in December 2017, a month after Niasse

We’re gonna get two points back and then lose two for the second breach at the end of the season. Then the PL can say they were right and the processes/sanctions put in place are fair and correct. And therefore an independent regulator is not required.

Not at all. I think we’ve been treated very unfairly. We deserve some form of punishment as we’ve admitted to breaking the rules but not to the extent it stands so far. And it’s right that we are fighting our cause.

But signing up to the ESL wouldn’t help us at all and in the long run would make us worse off as it is designed as a closed shop to protect the richest teams. The ESL is very much an example of turkeys voting for Christmas unless you are one the current elite, super rich clubs.

We would be much better off getting together with the teams outside of the Scum 6 and trying to push a change in the way PSR is structured. I’m all for making sure teams don’t go bust but in its current iteration it is incredibly unfair and only serves to sustain the status quo.

At the very least it should be assessed every 3 years (i.e. the accounting period) to take into account inflation in the market and inflation in general. This wouldn’t be an issue if every league was playing by the same rules as everyone would have the same issues. But every league isn’t run under the same rules. Since PSR came in we’ve had China going mad for a couple of years and now Saudi Arabia doing the same. The market has shifted due to exogenous shocks but the limit of £105m has stayed the same. It makes no sense.
Spot on this. I know we are no way near being one of the ESL elites, and would probably be no way near being invited. I’m just intrigued to know what the PL would do if we started making noise about wanting to join. Would we get the slap on the wrist like the scab 6 got, or would we be in line for a heavier sanction, I think we all know the likely outcome. If they were to hit us with say expulsion from the prem, you’d like to think that would also apply to the scab 6, but as we’ve seen with this PSR breach and subsequent punishment the PL can’t be trusted, and I genuinely believe had we been a scab 6 club we’d have probably been looking at a fine or transfer ban at most. As a none match going fan I realise it’s a lot easier for me to say sod it, let’s go scorched earth and burn it all down, but for the 1000’s of tortured souls who turn up at Goodison week in week out and who follow us around the country it’s not as easy to say that, or at least that seems to be the case when I have this conversation with ST holders.

It’s too late for that now. It’s in motion. And the MPs doing it clearly dislike Masters.

We would get a much bigger sanction than the others because after what happened they wrote it into the rules.

I’m sure I read it’s now a 30 point deduction and £25m fine.

By that rational they'd be admitting their process is flawed and therefore couldn't be used a second time without having an an alternative process sanctioned by all clubs.

That was briliiant. He was pushed and may have 'gone down too easily - like hundreds before and since. But others who blantantly simulated (ie; fell over when there was no contact at all) didn't get any punishment. Still, what do you expect when Danny (Mensa) Murphy was involved?
