6 + 2 Point Deductions

Yes. As in, we can’t go back in time and fix the two years that caused us to be in breach for the first period. It’s completely ridiculous to punish us twice for the same accounting periods, the “rolling 3 years” is complete nonsense.
Oh I don't disagree , just pointing out that it's not actually "the same accounting period"

But you don't have to go back in time to fix it, isn't that the point? I know there'll be extremes, e.g. if you lost a billion in one year you'd obviously fail for three years, but that would be the case the other way as well.

2018/19 was a terrible year for losses and dropped off the calculation. 2022/23 has to be pretty bad as well.

Two of those years would be from the same 3 year period that we’ve already been punished for though?

Isn't that how accountancy period is work though? For things like capital gains relief?

It’s mad how 22/23 could be as bad as 18/19. Yes we spent money, but would have been Spread and brought in the Gordon money. Plus wages would have dropped

Yep, Gordon money was pure profit. 100% of it on the books immediately. We also received a combined 1.9 million for Broadhead and Isaac Price, a figure that there or thereabouts paid the first year of James Garner's (for example) transfer that season.

Anybody know how the 1.7m we received for Nkounkou falls in the calculations. Was that all book profit?

Ignoring the fact that basing it all on numbers impacted by revenue (which means Bournmouth can NEVER win the PL) is wrong, rolling 3 years is the right method, so if you have a player X unforeseen disaster, you can cut your cloth accordingly the next 2 years. But you should also not think a good year means you can spend right up to the limit the next year. Should always leave a buffer, but as it’s a competitive sport, clubs will seak to hold as small a buffer as possible. That mechanism works fine assuming you agree with its aims.

The issue is the complete lack of documented process when a team breaches. How do you handle their rehabilitation back to compliance. 2 years grace provided heading in the right direction would work? 3 years with a suspended penalty if they go backwards? Basic limits on net spend? Plenty of ways to make it work, but the sport is run by idiots who don’t seek opinions of experts when setting rules.

I’m not confident on us getting anything back, the PL want us gone. The timing of the appeal decision just after the window closes, the timing of the second charge just before the end of the season, then the changes to the rules moving forward. Its all set up for them to retain the points deduction once we can’t get anyone in during the window, wait and see how many points we might be above the drop zone at the end and the dock us that for a second penalty, and then change the rules next season so we’re the only team ever relegated by such rules.

they tried it with the Niasse ban when we were in free fall at the time. They tried it with the Allan red against Newcastle and disallowing the shirt pulls on Richy against Brentford before sending off Branthwaite. They thought they had us that season. Now they’re blending points deductions with the worst refereeing calls week after week you’ll ever see.

Don't we just instantly appeal any second penalty on the basis that we've been punished twice for the same offence?
If you are doing 90mph on the motorway and get flashed by 2 different cameras how many fines will you get?

If you never slowed down between flashes do you think you could argue that it is the same offence?

Why though?

Anyone know by how much that we have gone over the limit this time? Every article I read about us having breached the limit never seems to say by how much we`ve gone over this time.

If they decide to punish us for the 2x different rolling 3 year periods, and I expect they intend to try, then surely there should be some rule in place that the 2x punishments can't be applied into one single season. I'm sure Super Silk will argue that case.

The pisser is potentialy getting the points from both of the punishments in the one season. If we were to get say another 3 or 4 then that should be next season, with Forests being this season. Dreadful, amateur arbitration, which you would expect better for such a large, rich entity. Sadly, thats the norm when it comes to things like this…
