6 + 2 Point Deductions

Yes… basically saying that we were told we were in danger of breaching the rules but mosh didn’t care … I guess the thinking was it would be possible to sell players to balance the books but mosh again didn’t do that
Or he banked on USM sponsorship helping balance the books which then got pulled

He ignored their warnings and that’s seems to be the main point of the argument

Moshiri really is an idiot isn't he.

Tbf though, I wouldn't say he's totally ignored it, we cut our spending and have been selling off players for years to help satisfy the FFP.

I'm confident we'll get most of the points back tbf, but everton init

This. Hope this KC today just has a copy of some amended accounts for show purposes. Just plonk them on the bench, and say 'here, that's what the accounts were projected to look like.'

On that matter, does anybody know how much of a precedent there is for PL clubs losing a key sponsor mid deal? Forget the war, just for a second, how many PL clubs have lost important sponsor deals mid term and ended up out of pocket?

Is there any? Genuine question, I have no idea.

If the answer is none, or one or something, then they need to really reexamine their stance of 'you should have been prepared for this. It's the type of thing that can happen.'

I don’t know him personally obviously , but he seems to have ignored everyone else .

Brands
Bill
The board
The fans ( appointing Rafael)

So I am not confident he gave a toss what the prem were telling him.

He’s deluded enough to go into the independent commission without a decent lawyer and believe he can take the stand and make our worries go away by basically confessing .

He’s an idiot and I have no idea how he became so rich

I think the problem with the sponsorship angle is that the PL can turn round and say that if this was a legitimate sponsorship at a reasonable market rate, we could’ve replaced USM with someone else. The fact we couldn’t (because it was a massively inflated deal to sink cash into us by the back door) tells the story. So they’re unlikely to let us cry it in over the loss of a “sponsorship” of that nature.

Even if he did ignore their warnings they are trying to impose a sanction that is heavier than the one for going into administration.
The PL rule book has a range of penalties that every club has signed up to and go from 3 points for failing to fulfil a fixture to 9 points for entering administration.
Everton’s disputed transgression sits somewhere between the 2 but there is no agreed rule on the size of the sanction for a breach of PSR as clubs have rejected a formula twice.
It appears we have got extra penalties because we did not bow down to the PL whilst remaining a going concern. The punishment is ridiculous whichever you look at it regardless of Moshiri’s incompetence.

I agree , but his ignoring them seems to have really struck a nerve and is a huge stick to beat us with .

Don't agree mate. If we were exploiting a loophole, then that's on the regulator. Other than exploiting a loophole, it was all above board, so err, in other words, it was all above board.

Losing sponsorship deals is rare at this level. We're not arguing culpability now, we're mitigating, and there's above board projected accounts that have us passing the regulations.

They're basically saying 'unlucky, but you should have been prepared for it.' I'm basically saying: What evidence or precedent(s) are they basing that assertion on?'
