6 + 2 Point Deductions

Is it just me that think these look crap and are utterly pointless?

What’s the point in projecting images onto our own buildings surely they should be on the other clubs grounds and premier league head quarters?
They've tried to do something so I give them credit for that. I'm not going to criticise other people when I've not done anything meaningful myself.

More good stuff from Burnham. We need to hear other well know voices banging the same drum though.

It’s not a great surprise it’s not in the media more. PL knew they only had to keep the media quiet for a week after the deduction, then about 24 hours after second charge and it’s old news to most fans and consumers of footy news.

Fans of other clubs just don’t care. Spoke to a good Villa fan yesterday who just thought it was because we “wasted £500m on crap players.” No knowledge of interest, player X, USM. Why would he care? I doubt anyone on here knew how Arsenal or Spurs financed their stadium builds until 2 months ago, now everyone is an expert.

The discussions on here are rampant, but there hasn’t been a single new fact or piece of solid evidence to change the story, and it’s easy for other clubs to think we are just moaning now.

We have Esk making bold assumptions based on accounts he cannot possibly have any information on but that’s it. He can spout IAS as much as he likes, but without knowing what else is in the accounts it’s nonsense. No senior employee of the club is dishing out that info, and no external service providers could conceive of dishing out that info. It would be a career-ender in both cases.

So credit to Burnham for doing the rounds this week to try and gain some traction.

Unfortunately the other clubs seem to have got the message. They are not spending any money.
Which tells me that every single one of them are close to if not breaking the rules.. Go through any teams finanances with the fine tooth comb that ours were looked at and i'd imigine that there would be punnishable findings at every club.

Weren’t we only looked into as deeply as we were because Leeds and Burnley wrote to the PL?

It wouldn’t surprise me if being £20m over would have got overlooked without other clubs pushing it (purely down to the amounts of the figures that are thrown about that £20m seems fairly insignificant).

I suspect we attracted their attention by posting loses of 380m over 3 years, personally.

I do agree with you that we broke the rules etc except nothing was happening until Leeds and Burnley. And the covid losses were accepted.

To me, the whole thing is a joke. We have 1163 pages of people fuming, guessing, posting up accounts and finances etc. There is simply nothing any of us can do about it. We all donated to a go fund me which raised of 30k and what did we get, a4 pictures which we held up and boo’d for a few games, again, it did absolutely nothing.

The harsh reality is supporting this club has become a joke. We can’t build a team, we sell the best players, we can’t build a stadium, we will probably have to sell that, we get bought out by a billionaire and we screw that up, everything goes against us, every referee decision goes against us. It is simply depressing. It’s actually become a horrible club to follow and support.

Liverpool are through to yet another cup final and we accepted that we lost to Fulham on pens. Onana should have been fined and banned for a month for that pen. We are crying out for something to lift the fans and he takes a penalty like he’s a superstar, what a joke.

It’s actually doing my head in at what we are and what we have become. It’s a complete joke. Nothing we can ever do will unbalance the corruption they have against us. But again we can’t do anything about it. What can we do? The amount of wrong refereeing decisions over the last few years only highlights the corruption to me. In years to come one of these ref’s will do a book or an interview and I am convinced they will slip up, they way Mike Dean did recently, they will come out and say ‘we couldn’t get Everton relegated, we had tried but we couldn’t do it’. It’s obviously they want us gone, if we had been relegated last year we would now be the EFL’s headache. All the talk everyday is driving me mad. When is it going to change for us? When are we going to be going to a final? Or challenging for Europe? Even a billionaire couldn’t do it.

We should request that the pl look into every club as much as they looked into us.. the lack of spending this window tells us that teams are keeping a low profile and not wanting to draw attention to themselves.

That’s not happening imo

17 games left to play and we would need to pick up 22 more points than Luton?

That’s assuming they don’t win their game on hand .

That would mean us winning 60% of our games and them winning none
We stayed up on 36 last year, to match that IF we get a 20 point deduction (assuming 36 would keep us up, which it should considering the quality difference between the bottom 3 of this year and last year) means we need a 56 point season.

We've earned 27 points so far so in that scenario we'd need to get 29 more from a possible 51. If we assume the promoted teams won't clear 30 points, then we need around 24 more points. 8 wins from 17 games, or any combination including draws If we do that, and the promoted lot finish on 30 or less then we'll be safe even if we finish the season waiting on an appeal judgement.

to follow that up
18 points from the last 17 last season

20 points from the last 17 the season before

It'll be tight, but it is doable especially if its only in the 20-24 region we end up needing. especially as we're better this year. The return games against Luton, Burnley and Sheffield United (and potentially Forest) are HUGE

Are you sure about this?

£500million?

Since 2019 we have the second lowest net spend in the league.

Meanwhile Chelsea spent a billion quid last year
