6 + 2 Point Deductions

The more I think about it the more I think that the Amortization of transfer fees is a problem. If you pay a transfer fee why can't it count against your profit and loss in that year. Prevents inflation of transfer fees.
Football clubs, like other companies, have to follow financial reporting standards as prescribed by accounting standard setters.

FFP is designed to depress player wages, agent fees and transfer fees. It's a response to the Super League and its closed system, and designed to make the clubs cash cows instead of fighting over pennies, because it's cheaper to buy Aston Villa than it is Kylian Mbappe.

It's the first/best scheme to limit player salaries across UEFA.
Whut? Wages and fees have risen astronomically since FFP came in a decade ago.

Yeah...but that's the franchise system for you and if a team was to go bankrupt, the league would step in and run the team until a new owner was found. Completely different system and doesn't mean it aligns with fans interests as we have seen teams move cities.

It's different but doesn't need to be. What is needed is a strong, centralized entity that can enact rules and enforce them fairly and expeditiously.

Whether that's the PL or UEFA, it's probably something like the latter so it covers most of the club football money. There's practically zero confidence in either, which is why we are where we are.

If you can't close the market with a franchise system, you just make the market bigger.

But football needs to get to the point where they save the owners from themselves.

Well, you could argue VAR does that as well.
Many do. myself included.
fans only contribute a small amount of revenue to Prem. clubs.
That's the wrongest and most stupid thing I've ever read on here.
And, from a fan point of view, you have a choice whether you stump up your hard earned in attending games. There is no guarantee the team will win, some ref screws the game up or that you will actually enjoy the game.

Of course there's no guarantee. There's no guarantee you will take 0 points from ten games or four games either though, unless of course, you know the points are gonna be taken off.

Define most supporters . Biggest grounds? Biggest Twitter Followers ? Most Members ?

It’s easy to say biggest stadiums or biggest attendances but City & WestHam we’re near enough gifted huge modern stadia so to a degree they have the luxury to charge less as basic infrastructure costs are less.

What you are suggesting is a club like Brentford would never have a seat at the top table because Griffin Park was really not that big and yes they have a new stadium with a capacity of 17k.

Brentford are having a purple patch as are Brighton . Brighton have a very troubled past and one man Tony Bloom who Brighton owe £300+ million is the reason for their good times
Good times! Good times is winning stuff not just making up the numbers. Are Chelsea enjoying good times at the moment? Of course they're not.

Yeah, all club revenues originate with supporter interest.

They're trying to discourage teams from breaching and they see a points deduction as the best way to do it, which it is, as you then gain no advantage from overspending.

But when they agree no sporting advantage was gained… why try and send a club into administration ?

Especially after trying to break free from the league … which would have cost all the other members millions in tv rights , the sly 6 were given 3.5m fines ?

According to dickie masters it’s 70% for clubs in Europe and 85% for the rest so it will be 85% for us at first, if they follow the European model.
In year one of the UEFA model it’s 90% year one then 80% then 70% .

Masters isn’t in any position to say what the final rule book will look like or what the % will be measured against. If it’s turnover then that’s a negative in terms of development of womans football or academy or even investing in infrastructure

Based on turnover at 70%. Everton would have been able to spend circa £113 million in 21/22 . That includes amortisation squad wages and agent fees minus transfer profit . Wheras based on our turnover it’s more like £ £330 million all bar the shouting three times the Everton number

In 21/22 alone your player trading accounted for £58 million so £55 million left. Agent fees were circa £15 million so £40 million for wages alas the accounts show £160 million for wages I have no idea how much non football staff wages were.

For some sort of perspective why the new system will be far worse heres ours for 21/22 . Wages £274 million,Player trading £37 million ( amortisation was £160 million profit from player sales £123 million) agent fees £43 million that comes to £354 million so just £24 million over and again I have no idea of the wages of support staff.

i would imagine that there will have to be some sort of allowable deviation but FFP will never work fairly

FFP isn't designed to prevent a Leeds situation, that is a smoke screen.

FFP, just as VAR, is there to protect the 'Sky 6', the teams who have sold out, left their fans behind chasing the money.
The Premier League uses them to market itself in the Far East, Africa and the southern hemisphere.
It's all about making as much money for the stakeholders as possible.

Nothing, absolutely nothing is going to get in the way of this ever-growing, very lucrative cash-cow.

Certainly not a club building a world class stadium in the city of the 'Team' that sits atop of their pot of gold.

I agree , I posted something similar but was replying to a post that said it was brought in the stop Leeds from happening again.

I was pointing out that if that’s the case , why are they trying so hard to to hit us with punishments that will actually cause administration to a club that has been an ever present in their league?
