5 at the back

All about the personnel. Without Coleman and Mori it's looked poor as Pennington is inexperienced and Holgate is a centre back really. Does a shift at right back but right wing back is a big ask.
 

Well with another defender out we have no chance of 5 at the back as we don't have 5 we can play do we?

Pretty much sums it up. Mori was capable in a back 3 and Coleman is pretty much the only reason a back 3 works. Swap Pennington for Holgate and you have a winning formula
 

The whole success of a back 5 is dependent on good mobile wing backs. We just don't have that at our disposal at the moment.

I do look forward to next season's squad. Koeman seems to like tactical flexibility which can give us a big advantage in games. Surely we'll be in for more Coleman type players.

Which is why we take him out of the formation completely lol. I don't think he is woeful as much as he came into the side at one of the worst times possible. Should have come on against the other half of the table if at all. He wasn't ready for the occasion.
