I've come to accept the fact that if we beat City it'll likely propel us into the Champions League whilst also guaranteeing the league title for the RS at the same time.
City beat them and we beat City then it's still in City's hands.

True, but another swashbuckling performance like yesterday would show real character and determination. I understand fully when you look at how Liverpool are jamming their way to 3 points most weeks but do you think a ref might give us 3 pens in one game? or even 2 for that matter...
ONE even!
No, they won't catch us unless we fall apart
Getting them out of the competition would remove the horrendous possibility of a Liverpool in 2005-type scenario (poor team getting it together in the competition)
Hopefully we'll give him a huge cheer and he will feel so happy that he won't even try against us. If he has also scored the winner against Arsenal by then it would be nice.I imagine it'll go down to final day. It would be ironic if jelavic scored a goal that prevented us from finishing 4th.
They have no chance of overtaking us, remember who manages them - the man who never wins when it matters.
I want them out of the CL asap. After Istanbul in 2005 I'll never be confident of superior quality overcoming grit and determination. All it takes is a couple of world class saves from de Gea and a van Persie penalty to get them into the semi final.
And long may it stay that way.The fact that we have Lukaku up front and they have Giroud should be enough really.
