4G and all that

Thanks mate. I'm well not impressed with this so far. It's sh*t.

The weather is pretty atrocious down here currently, any chance that could affect it? I'm pretty much bang in the middle of where they say I should be getting the strongest 4g signal.

It could do yeah, although it could just be a general network issue.

If it's still not working tomorrow i'd ring them and bitch and moan.

Hope this helps mate

Maddison??

Meh

Wait .... LTE is 4G?!

Well why the [Poor language removed] hell don't they tell you that?!

Thanks fellas.

Any ideas why I had it and now it's gone again?!

I have it in my area btw.

They do let you know, just google and you'd find out ;-)

Capacity issue on the network most likely. I"ve used it in Cardiff and in Merthyr Tydfil (the latter being where EE have a call centre. The speed in Cardiff was pretty slow to start with and spotty at best, Merthyr was faster and more consistent. I'd hazard a guess that it was simply that there were less subscribers clogging up the network in Merthyr.

Unless you have a private APN, basically your own gateway to the network (some business customers only - and even they have to pay extra for it), you'll find that you'll be thrown over to 3G if the network is at times. The speed will improve, and it's most likely simply a contention issue, unless there is a lot of interference in your area (buildings etc, and materials within the walls of the buildings, also other wireless signals).

Hope that helps

Thanks mate - seems alright now.

I'm not sure what i was expecting really.

Ridiculously fast 80mbps speeds? Unfortunately this is where advertising and reality meet. You can get some good download speeds on occasion though, and the upload is pretty good generally. If you're using Dropbox, or another sync type service, you should find they work pretty well with the extra speed 4G offers.
