Everton boss David Moyes admits that his desire is to win "a couple of trophies" with the Toffees after he took charge of his 400th game as manager of the club against Chelsea last week.

Since his move from Preston in 2002, Moyes has turned the club from relegation battlers to challengers for a place in Europe but the Scot admits he is desperate to win some silverware at Goodison Park.

"I have been very lucky and fortunate that I have been working with a very good board at Everton. I am thankful and in today's era it is quite an achievement," Moyes told the club’s official website.

"I am not one for statistics, what I really want is a couple of trophies.

"I was accepted from the first day and hopefully over the piece we haven't disappointed them too many times.

"My mind is on the next game, the one that's coming. After you finish you look back and talk about them. When you are managing there isn't time to look back."

Only Manchester United’s Sir Alex Ferguson, Arsenal’s Arsene Wenger and Accrington Stanley's John Coleman have lasted longer in their current role, but with 400 games already under his belt, Moyes is hoping to at least double that figure.

"If life is good to me and Everton is good to me and I feel I am still up for it and the supporters want me then I'll be happy to do 400 more," Moyes continued.

"I don't want to be looking back, I want us to talk about new challenges, new European games. I want us to be looking at what's coming next."

Well in Moyesy kid, peronaly i hope for 400 more, as well!

Well done moysie, for all his faults 400 not out is a credit to any manager, tho i suppose without blue bill as a chairman his reign would have been considerably shorter what with the trigger happy chairman about these days (mike ashley prime example, what a tool) and with some of the abject periods we've had under moysie im fairly sure most clubs would have had him out long ago. But nevertheless, im pro moyes so well in lid! P.s I wonder if in another 400 games time he'll have unleashed our 'secret weapon' Magaye Gueye by then?! Probably cmon as sub in 85th min at 1 down v Crawley Town (theyre the Citeh of the non league yer know, be prem by 2018!)

My yawn was at his statement that he wants to win trophies......

400 games in charge is unheard of these days. Look at the barcodes....a manager is lucky to get 20 games in charge!
