Memory may be playing tricks on me or confusing other euro seasons but didn't we struggle to get past Finn harps or UCD in early round

I was on the park end terrace that night. My oldest brother took me and my 2 mates in his car. I have the weirdest memory of that night. I was 15 at the time and one of my mates bought 10 bensons for us to have during the match. We were 1 down and my mate passed me a fag, I didn't want my brother to see me having one(who was In the top balc) so I squeezed right to the front, where it was most crowded and lit one up with a match, there was a puddle of water by the wall (probably slash) so I told myself, if I can flick the match into the water we would score, 30 seconds later we were level and the rest was history. Worst of all, he'd spotted me having a smoke and threatened to tell me dad. He never did though and after telling him about my wonder superstition he paid for me to go to Rotterdam......now that WAS the best night ever.

Apologies, the poor language removed was just another name for a cig...no offence meant.

UCD. Drew 0-0 away leg iirc, won home 1-0 but think they nearly got an away goal late on. Hit woodwork!!!!! Does not bear thinking about.

Greatest night in my time as a Everton Supporter...
So vivid is the image of Tricky turning away from the goal after scoring...wagging his finger in the air ....
Happy Days..

One thing you notice is not so much the ability of the players but just the sheer will to win hurling into tackles for 90 minutes, contesting every ball, just wearing them down. Wish the current team put in a quarter of that work rate.

Was at the away leg in Munich but couldn't get a ticket for the home leg..was gutted but the whole experience that few seasons was something else..didn't think it was gonna end, we just battered everyone. Remember reading an article which said in 1985 we were the best team in the world...Everton that

I was in the Upper Bullens, now the away bit but I just remember the whole place bouncing during the 2nd half. It was every Evertonians I was there moment and we just showed how good we were to batter Bayern. Certainly my best memory even better than Rotterdam because we knew we'd win, even I thought we'd win & I'm the biggest pessimist going!! 30 years where has that time gone?

If you look at the DVD, as the teams are coming out there is an Irish flag waving in the Street End - that was me !!

Dublin Toffees travelled in force on the old B&I but loads missed the return that night (sailing at 10.15 p.m.!!)

I made it by the skin of my teeth, but in hindsight I shouldn't have bothered and should have stayed to enjoy the party!!

The ferry arrived at 7.30 and We spent the whole day bevvying from once the pubs opened - at 11.30 in those days. We met up with a load of Bayern fans in town who came out with us to the Devonshire about 3 o clock and we stayed drinking and singing with them until time to head to Goodison.

Brilliant memories.
