I’ve had a few drinks this afternoon so bear with me.
Being realistic its going to be hard to get anything from the next 4 games I can only see 2 to 5 points at best.
Today’s game was completely ruined by the red card. Who knows what would have happened without it. Yes, we might still have lost but we will never know, it’s hard against any premier league team with 10 men.
Liverpool didn’t impress at all after the sending off but the pressure was always going to tell. 10 men is a massive handicap and we are always defensive with 11 men let alone 10.
My point of thought is that without massive investment and a new stadium we are never going to challenge for top 4 let alone top 6 in today’s economic climate.
So what would most Everton fans want?
Personally I want us to win a trophy! We should be going all out to win the League and FA Cup and to win the derbies!!!!!
Is there a big difference between 8th and 16th other than a bit more prize money? Everton seem to be the only team in the Premier League that take the Europa league seriously and its going to be hard for us to be able to get a qualify with all the other clubs spending so much money.
The prem league needs a wage cap now more than ever!!!!!!!!
Lots of people moan about Moyes and I agree his defensive tactics do my head in at times but how many managers would have coped with the budget that he has had to contend with over the last 10 years.
But on the flip side when Moyes does spend big money he hasn’t always been the best. Beattie, Koldrup & Billy to name 3 off the top of my head. There is no way we should have spent 9m on Billy just for him to sit on the bench. I’d love for him to give Billy a go in the middle and if it doesn’t work out at least sell him for half of what we paid for him. Bad return on the Yak as well but once you fall out with Moyes that’s that (Beckford).
Everton doesn’t seem to be the place to come if you’re a striker. Beatttie was sh*t, Yak quality first season, never the same after his injury, AJ always ran his heart out, Saha always injured but so much talent.
Our team has a lot of promise but Moyes just needs to go with it. If they are good enough then they are old enough. Velios, Barkley and Gueye all need to start playing more regularly and Moyes needs to make his mind up about Rodwell and Coleman. Are they defenders or Midfielders?
Fingers crossed for the next few weeks and maybe we can spring a surprise and hopefully do Chelsea in the league cup.
Up the Toffees!!!!!
