Some exposition needed to explain what is going on.

And it's set in London, but only ever heard American accents in episode 1.

Anyone a little bit under whelmed with this?

Strikes me as a rushed story with no real attention grabbing detial as of yet. The bad guys in it are just silly, they have already revealed who will betray them and the main threat they are talking about is very unrealistic even for 24.

Plus Jack Baeur is a little bit of a destroyed character now. CTU are against him, the government is against him ,the bad guts are against him, the good guys are against him. hell even a part time gangster would love to come across against him at some point.

With only 8 episodes left there is nothing really gripping me into it like 24 of old.
