I was there having travelled through the night by Ferry to Holyhead then train to Euston.

"Tell me ma me ma...we're going to Wembley Thrice..."

Grobelaar cock up for the winner.

Blues and reds completely mixed in together

Cops being told there was no need for the big presence ...."whatcha doin' ere?? Youse should be all on picket duty!!!"

Had a great weekend staying with Irish family friends in Harrow.

Lovely memories!

I was 12 at the time and my first trip to Wembley. I recall the rivalry wasn't what it is now and there was a sense of Mersey pride in both teams. The game passed me by because I was just awestruck by Wembley as a 12 year old kid would be. Liverpool's fanbase back then had no day trippers as such so both sets of fans mingled and celebrated the day together. I doubt that type of thing will happen anytime soon.
