Good player though
Lived around by me in Ainsdale back in the day when he played for the RS,story by us was he loved a flutter on the gee, gees(like most players!!)but his Mrs thought it was getting out of hand, she used to go out in the afternoons take the keys and lock him in the bedroom upstairs, when she'd gone out and the coast was clear a car would pull up outside his house, usually a team mate, the bedroom window would open and he would throw the dough down for his bets for the day, true story lol lol lol

As i mentioned on another thread the first ( and so far only) time that I've attended Goodison park was to witness Everton beat my team at the time Bristol city 1 -0. I've been doing some digging and the game was in October 1977 and Andy king scored the goal ( couldn't stand him when he was Swindon's manager) Bristol city had a decent side in those days with the likes of Hunter Cormack and gow and i see that Everton finished third that season. I wonder if anyone remembers that game! Im hoping to return to Goodison park in 2021 ( whether or not it find Dave Rose)
I was there, but remember nothing of the game other than it was a scary place back then.

I don

I don't mind Bristol City, didn't the club go from bottom of Division 1 in September 1979 to bottom of Division 4 in September 1982 (or something like that) !!!

Got relegated from division 1 to Division 4 in conservative seasons and came within hours of going bust in the third division season. Hit bottom of Division 4 at Christmas but recovered to finish about 14 th and got promoted the following season. It was certainly a experience!
