13 points out of 10 games

Sadly this view has no bearing on league placing. Our loss ratio is down from last season yet we're almost identical in the league table, odd that. The win ratio though is exactly the same. Would be funny but then I remember that you get three points for a win but not always for just not losing.
We are tougher to beat now than at any point since Martinez was hired...and the first season under him was pretty much better defensive wise than any season under Moyes bar one.

That's what's commonly known as PROGRESS.

I think you are mixing it up. When people ask 'what is Everton's recent form' they don't want Daceks subjective opinion on how this is the best football he's ever seen. The answer is over 6 games 2 wins 4 draws. We have the tenth best form in the league which is why we're tenth.

Players have form, teams get results.

"How's Lukakus form?.." Hmmm very good.

"What's Evertons results like over the last 10 game?..." Erm quite good.

You see the difference?

Tough to beat, not losing, defensively sound. To add to your recent Elstone and Neville impressions you've now got your mate Davey Moyes down to a tee. Progress that's not reflected in the league table? Sounds a bit like winning without winning to me. Any manager can sacrifice defensive solidity for attacking guile and vice versa. A good manager finds a winning balance. The question that needs asking is as Martinez has progressed with his squad remoulding why have we found that winning balance less and less since his first season? Not expecting an answer.

I agree with your post which begs the question half this site is avoiding. If the players individual form is so good (Lukaku in the goals, Barkley and Del with assists) why are we in tenth?

Shame on the premier league for ending the season after 16 games and making us finish 10th . Who knows what would have happened and where we would have finished if the they played 38.
Let's leave the sarcasm out? We all want better results, this is about acknowledging what gone before.

Gaffer when you can find a way of effecting other teams results say like Leicester, Palace or West Ham when your teams not playing them you'll be on for a top top job.

Until then you'll just either have to grin and bear it like most normal people do or continue being miserable on the Internet indefinitely.

So what you're saying is that being 3 points behind 5th means nothing, because to get 5th we'd have to hope to better Spurs, Palace, Watford, West Ham and the rs results. Didn't you laud 3 points behind 5th as something to celebrate yesterday?

It amazes me how many people celebrate mediocrity and then make up ridiculous arguments to try and bring everyone else down with them.

This is some poor game from you Doug it really is. Apparently there's some weird coincidence between the amount of games you win and your league position. I guess the top managers though are so good they just influence everyone else's position. Shame Martinez can seemingly do neither.

Because that makes up a quarter of a football team, the likes of McCarthy have been dreadful, and I'm not even going into the cardboard cut out in goal.

@Saint Domingo I'm still waiting for your response to my last message to you?

Don't be rude now....

Sorry I didn't realise it was directed at me because it wasn't to do with anything I was talking about. You just picked out bits out of context from my quotations then fit them into your alternative universe argument. When you can articulately convince me that having a squad of players at Everton who don't perform under pressure should be indulged then I will respond to you. Whilst your writing your magnum opus on something else though I'm not bothered.
