Homepage Article Cup Exit An Opportunity Missed

"Perhaps last night was a reality check. Progress has been made, but we’ve still got a long way to go."

The progress made so far, however, has been to go from a very low base of performance levels to one where the team are performing like a half decent PL outfit.

Real progress means taking bolder decisions now that the facts of the squad have changed to hand us greater match winning potential.

I seriously doubt that type of progress is consistently in Moyes' locker. Yes there'll be matches that defy that assessment, but over the rest of the season those moments will be few and far between.

I think that's the point (about the facts changing and the need for being bolder) made by @Saint Domingo in the Moyes thread. He's right too.

The Friedkins should tell him that they didn't spunk all this money for Moyes to imagine he's the dog's bollocks, and can afford to put out the team he did. The paucity of Moyes' ambitions is in direct opposition to the supposed ambitions of the Friedkin Group. He should be put on notice that it isn't good enough. Sick of our constant failure, both of ambition and managers.
