It's worrying that 4 out of our last 7 games have resulted in 1-0 defeats. It sends a message out that teams don't need to show much adventure to secure the points against us. If they defend reasonably well, we won't be able to break them down and we'll probably let them in to nick a goal.

We do better away from home and against the bigger sides because they attack us. We can't afford to write off 75% of our games at Goodison, where teams come to park the bus. It would be a start atleast for us to defend properly, so that teams have to come at us if they want to leave with anything more than a point.

This was true last year, it's true now and it will be true for the rest of this year.

Spot on. We were considerably better than QPR until they got in front and parked the bus, then we went back to passing it around the box as usual. The issue is a lot of the teams who just come to defend don't want more than a point.

Well, that bit about parking the bus is probably every "lesser" team's mission at Goodison.

And about the second - we pass it around the box only because nobody in the team knows how to take a shot, bar Barkley and Bilyaletdinov.

I remember the days when it was always 1-0 to Everton. We'd scrape out wins we had no business getting three points from.

Some of the lack of shooting was just baffling at the weekend, it was paddy kenny ffs, if you have it in the box its probably worth a go. Rodwell falling for a penalty in the first half instead of thumping it goalwards summed it up really.

Bohemians brought on a keeper for the last 20 minutes or so who was making his senior debut for them, we never tested him once.

This will remain the case this season too unles we bring in some personel. 2 wingers and a striker are needed so badly it's a disgrace that mountains havnt been moved to make this happen as of yet. Eveyone could see it last season Inc moyes and it's not been addressed. Money has to be found from somewhere to sort this. There are free's and loans out there available to sort these problems which is what is the most annoying. I swear to god we better be planning some late deals or top 10 will be a struggle this year!

Were on the front foot these days tho and after 20-30 mins of the opposition realising were no threat in the final 3rd despite are possession, were a bit more open and concede, the likes of utd usually score when there on top and even if they don't and concede one like we do then they are full of confidence that an attacking player will come up with the goods before long. The opposition know that even with a goal lead there likely to be broken down eventually. Tactics against us must be so easy... Defend well they won't score we will knick one then they will panic even more and don't have any game winning players!

We normally let in a soft goal early on too. Teams don't need to go for a second goal to kill the game off because they know that one will more than likely be enough.

I agree about lack of shooting too. With so many bodies infront of the keeper he's going to be unsighted and a deflection would benefit us. Cahill is terrible at shooting from distance but Bily, Barkley, Rodwell, Arteta, Baines, Fellaini and Saha should all be having a pop at goal once they get within range.
