You’d swear we were in March and 10 points off safety. This appointment screams pure desperation, probably heightened by having Steve Walsh having his twopence.

It’s the poorest decision I’ve witnessed in my time watching us. It’s told the world that we have no ambition

It's a disgrace. It's essentially telling the footballing world that we are desperate. Allardyce is, and always has been a last gasp manager and the reputation we once had is now in tatters.

Sorry I just cannot get my head around this at all. I'm pretty sure you're insinuating that being British allows a better view of what the league is like and thus less risky, but this doesn't seem the case. Just had a quick look at the last 5 years and roughly 2/3 of teams are relegated with British coaches.

Anyway it's a world game and we should be appointing the best man we can possibly get regardless if he's from the UK, Swaziland or Wigan.

At a time when only roughly 1/3 of premier teams had British coaches.

In what world is that a different scenario?. I'm an Evertonian and despite all it's many failings will always continue to be. Its part of who I am. As a protest at what I consider to be the worst possible managerial appointment we could make, I'm going to stop attending matches whilst he is manager. I still want us to win every game, and will be devastated when he relegates us. You say that me not attending live games means I'm not an Everton supporter. Why does that make me any different to all the other Everton supporters, which I believe is over 90% of our total fan base, who do not attend live games?

I will get over Fat Sam being our manager. It will take the club a long time to recover, he will bring in grafters at inflated prices, he will get a big lump of a centre forward and we will defend with 10 men and lump the ball forward.
At the end of the season we will have to get rid of the dross we now have and the mediocre players he gets.

I would prefer Tony Pullis, that is how bad things have become. Could any of us ever have imagined we would be negotiating with Fat Sam?

Just one of many reasons why we shouldn't sign him. But probably should be given more significance given the number and quality of young players we have on our books at the moment.

Brought this up in a post yesterday, and how having a path to the first team is so important if this young talent were to develop, and that they wouldn't have that under Allardyce so their careers will be effectively ruined. Somebody responded with a post that basically said don't worry about it, if they're any good another club would pick them up. I was speechless

Obviously the powers that be don't care what the fans think. Appointing a greedy crook like BFS is as low as I've ever seen Everton sink and I've been a supporter over 50 years. Will give up my season ticket at the end of this season if he remains into next year. No way will any of my hard earned cash go into lining his greedy pockets. Actually feel heartbroken.
