We don't receive ANY subsidies and havent for years. My tax bill was 11k last year, I am not on the ponce at all.
As for having kids after buying a house, didn't plan on having the first one. I was a labourer and my wife was a waitress we could not afforf a house or even a deposit.

We have tried saving up and have raised about 1/3 of what we actually need. It will be another year or 2 before we can raise the rest.

Admittedly, we live in an expensive city but, it is our home. I am f u cked if I am going to uproot my entire family because I cannot buy a house.

The point is, (back to the original post) that no family should be getting any benefits when they earn 40k+ per year.
Actually the original post was whether you should get council housing if you earn 40k. Council housing is not benefit, it is a subsidy though. The taxpayer picks up the difference between market value and the rent charged. In most cases I don't think people earning 40k should get council houses.

People falling for the Tory propaganda.
