    Double Liége Swoop-Defour and Witsel

If it wasn't for Champion's league, I think we would have agreed on your 15 millions euros bid. But again, you have to keep in mind that our manager ( Luciano D'Onofrio ) knows just about everybody in the world of football ( he used to be the agent of Zidane, Henry, Deschamps, ... ), and he...

    Double Liége Swoop-Defour and Witsel

Those quotes are months old ( from february or something ), at the time we were'nt sure of Champions' league football. I guess he has changed his mind since then. If it wasn't for Champion's league, we would have find it normal that he'd leave this summer, but now.... no, I don't even wanna...

    Double Liége Swoop-Defour and Witsel

Aha I knew somebody would tell me that. The club is Standard, but the city is still Liege, so he did bring the title back to the city of Liege, geographically speaking. And I think he would love to play with Felli once again, not to mention it would be great for our national team.

    Double Liége Swoop-Defour and Witsel

I'm not the manager, but I wouldn't consider a bid under 23 millions euros. Again, he probably isn't worth that much , but we just can't afford to lose him this very year ( champion's league )

And BTW, he's better than Moutinho.

    Double Liége Swoop-Defour and Witsel

Hi guys. First of all, we ( Standard fans ) would be very grateful if you'd call us 'Standard' intead of 'Liege', as 'Liege' usually refers to Liege FC, our local arch-ennemy. It's like we'd be calling you 'Liverpool', ain't pleasant, is it? We 're Standard as in Bayern (Munich) and Juventus...

    mohamed tchite

Nice striker, very quick, technique ok, could do well at Everton. 8M is a bit too much though. Scored a fantastic goal for Standard Liege years ago : YouTube - Standard Tchité

    Elyaniv Barda

He's not good enough for Premier League football. Not in a million years.

    Milan Jovanović

I can tell you that there will be a lot of tears in Liège when Defour will leave us. We absolutely love him. He represents perfectly what we call the "Standard spirit" : rebellious, irreverent, team-spirited, gives everything in every match... and a hell of a player! The heartbeat of the team...

    Milan Jovanović

OK, so where do I begin? First of all, you have to keep in mind that, despite being historically one of the top 3 belgian sides, we hadn't won a single league title since 1983. We were close to bankrupcy when a new management team bought the club in 1997. For some years, the management line...

    Milan Jovanović

Don't pay attention to what Milan says. He's totally crazy, one day he says white, the day after he says black. His interviews are always a lot of fun. Previous summer he said he would quit football if he was still playing for Standard this year, and now he says he wouldn't mind staying until...

    Fellaini ( from a belgian perspective )

I reckon Moyes has read my thread:lol:

    Fellaini ( from a belgian perspective )

Yep, Standard like a flag. Originally it was supposed to be "Etendard" ( french name for flag, from old french estendard ,from which the english standard originated ), but the students who created the club wanted to make it sound english, so they went for Standard. So it's actually a noun, not...

    Fellaini ( from a belgian perspective )

I barely know Rodwell, so I really can't comment. My analysis from the original post come from a 4-4-2 perspective. That's how we played at Standard* and it suited Marouane very well. I'm sure he could settle just fine in a 3-5-2 or a 4-5-1, but I like 4-4-2 best ( personnal opinion that is )...

    Fellaini ( from a belgian perspective )

Off course Iniesta and Pirlo are too expensive for pretty much anyone, but there certainly are players with the same profile who could be affordable by Everton. Defour is one of them. He's gonna leave at the end of the season for sure, and since your management seems to like to give big money...

    Fellaini ( from a belgian perspective )

Thanx:D Gooch is doing very well right now. When he came back from Newcastle you could tell he was dissapointed and it showed on the pitch. But since january he's been awesome. Unfortunately his contrat is running out at the end of the season and both Marseille and PSG want him.

    Fellaini ( from a belgian perspective )

Two box to box players is one too much IMHO. Again, Marouane needs someone type Iniesta-Pirlo around him. Both have creativity and defensive skills, but neither are box to box player.

    Fellaini ( from a belgian perspective )

Well, that where he had been playing when Cahill wasn't playing, but certainly not today. It was really frustrating, knowing his qualities, to see him put the brake on in the offensive plays. He's someone who's attracted by the goal, and he clearly wasn't allowed to today. I'm sure he is very...

    Fellaini ( from a belgian perspective )

Honestly , he's not worth 15M. Everybody was suprised here in Belgium. But I'm sure in two years time he's gonna worth it, maybe even more ( if your manager can use him properly that is )

    Fellaini ( from a belgian perspective )

I've just registered but have been reading this forum ever since Standard met Everton in the UEFA Cup. I've watched most Everton matches since Marouane joined Goodison Park, and I 've read your opinions about him, and how he went from "worst transfer in Everton history" to "worldclass player in...
