    Halsey on GP

For the first few years of the 'new'Park End the vocal support from that section was immense. Don't know what caused the change. The transferring of the middle section of seats for hospitality tickets perhaps.

Very rare footage of Everton's 1985 league title & ECW cup parade (on Cine Film!)

The pre-health and safety days. Brilliant. I like the way the commentator on the 1966 footage casually refers to 400 injuries amongst the crowd.

    The Yak

He only left Everton to get away from Cahill jumping on his back after every goal!

    Ross Barkley

Strange player Pienaar. Has a lovely quick turn and pick up in pace over 10 yards with the ball under total control............and then he passes.............and invariably the pass will be rushed and overhit or generally off target. You'd have though after 15 years playing at top level he'd...

    Everton v Spurs. 3rd Nov @ 13.30.

Spurs were poor (as were we of course). Very predictable even though they had all the possession in the first half. Some teams you feel uncomfortable against when they're in possession. Can't say I ever felt uncomfortable today.

    Leighton Baines

Got to agree with that. At the moment he's costing us not just his wages but the continuous devaluation of his transfer value, so if he's going to go let it happen in January. Wait until the summer and we'd have 'lost' £5m at least on the fee. Of course, what we'd be losing is a handful of...

    Old Everton Pictures

Should have won that game by 4 or 5. Missed chance after chance and hit the woodwork a few times. Wasn't our goal scored in the last minute?

    Old Everton Pictures

Not many. Probably only in the low hundreds - no Ryanair or Easyjet then.

    HELP ANYONE?

Wasn't that the game where we first paraded The Magnificent 7?

    The Missing Thousands

You can't really reduce obstructed views by more than a quid or two unless it's going to always be the case that all other seats are sold, otherwise there's nothing stopping you paying the much-reduced price but then taking up an unsold unobstructed seat elsewhere.

    Leighton Baines

He has, just not as much as under Moyes.

    Everton 1963 champions play

Correct. An absolutely fantastic player. Lovely on the ball AND as hard as nails. A tragic loss to Everton Football Club at the time. With him we wouldn't have had to wait until 1970 before winning the championship again.

Red Bull Liverpool? Red Bull Everton? How's that sound?

I've not read the whole thread so someone might have mentioned it already, but pre-PL it was not allowed to incorporate a corporate label into your club name. Jimmy Hill tried it on in the 70s, trying to change Coventry City to Coventry Talbot (a local car manufacturer at the time). Presumably...

    Fans with smoke bombs

How big are the smoke canisters? I ask because everyone was being frisked at City outside the turnstiles.

2 games moved for sky tv

Looks like the TV companies will both be squeezing our required minimum number of home fixtures in in the latter half of the season -- don't tell me we'll be picked for mouthwatering games against the likes of Southampton, Fulham etc.

    Robbed by the referee

Of course not. But hounding the officials is all part of what it takes to win things. It does make a difference. Name the last side to win the league who didn't. Difficult isn't it?

    Robbed by the referee

Couldn't agree more with your last comment. We are far too gentlemanly and far too easy on the refs. Compare this with the mid-80s side -- even when we got the decison they'd still be giving the ref an ear full! They were in the refs ear all the time. Coincidence that that was when we were...

    Coleman

Coleman's performance against Newcastle was the best FB display I have seen in years. As always, because it wasn't a strikers performance or that of a dynamic MF player, it got little attention and kudos from those ignorant bastards who masquerade as journalists and footballing experts. One...

    easy to play against

One thing the Fulham game did show more clearly than any other so far was just how easy it is to go up against the Martinez type football by marking very tight and pushing right up on our back 4. The back 4 has never looked too comfortable on the ball when near their own penalty area. And its...
