Old Photos Of Where You Live

Anyone remember the name of the mens clothes shop next to this cafe that was open in the late 70's early 80's?

Should I Sell Or Should I Keep?

Just the two by the Sex Pistols - God Save the Queen and C'mon Everybody. Nice surprise yesterday when a record I thought wasn't worth much is going for £80 - Walk Across the Rooftops by The Blue Nile. "This time next year, Rodney."

Should I Sell Or Should I Keep?

Thanks Claus, I've got photos and good packaging sorted. The grading is tricky as you want to be honest about the condition but don't want to put buyers off by making it sound like you've just found it at the back of the dog's kennel.

Should I Sell Or Should I Keep?

Methuselah, I would like to say it was something edgy like The Clash, but I think it was Sir Duke by Stevie Wonder. Though that 'toothbrush song' sounds quite alternative - if only Probe had sold it!

Should I Sell Or Should I Keep?

Apparently jazz is often described as syncopated rhythms, polyphonic ensemble playing, varying degrees of improvisation, often deliberate deviations of pitch, and the use of original timbres. Or, in my house "Turn off that [Poor language removed]." Worse than YNWA on repeat.

Should I Sell Or Should I Keep?

Thanks for the advice but moved away from Liverpool so online selling is best for me. I'll stick with Ebay as it's probably the place first think of when they want to buy something used. I'm playtesting all the vinyl and I'm constantly surprised how well they play considering the state of some...

Should I Sell Or Should I Keep?

Methuselah, interested to know - considering your grand age - what was the first record you bought?

Should I Sell Or Should I Keep?

I know what you mean that emotional value can influence your idea of monetary value. A lot of the records are limited edition or imports so they are worth more than basic UK versions. Discogs is really good to research and price. The albums are averaging between £20-25 and the singles around £15.

Should I Sell Or Should I Keep?

Thanks, I use Discogs to research and value them - why is it better than Ebay?

Should I Sell Or Should I Keep?

Thinking of selling my old records as I rarely play them any more and they will fetch a tidy sum on Ebay. Lots of original vinyl including The Clash, Sex Pistols, very early U2, The The, Jesus and Mary Chain etc. One record by The Justified Ancients of Mu Mu could fetch around £250. A bit of me...

    Stray dogs

Growing up in Liverpool in the 70's and 80's there were stray dogs everywhere - sometimes packs of them! My wife, who is not from Liverpool, doesn't believe me when I tell her stray dogs used to invade my school's playground, fight with each other, refuse to leave and cause play and dinner time...

    Songs you despise

Dancing in the moonlight - Toploader Anything by Coldplay - they are just a bad Echo and the Bunnymen tribute band Chelsea Dagger - The Fratelli's Anything by Queen/Muse - basically the same band, pompous bombastic shoite Simply the Best - Tina Turner Everything by Simply Red Human - The...

Words You Used When A Kid

Growing up in Old Swan we said this 'dip' Err marr dommer racker Icker racker um pum push If push doesn't agree out goes number three If three doesn't arrive out goes number five 1,2,3,4,5 Looks mad written down, but seemed perfectly logical at the time.

    Ian Wright

He's a horrible, arrogant yard-dog. Years ago at one of his book signings I photographed him for a newspaper I was working for. Anyone who bought his book was allowed one photo with him before they were ushered away. He had a face like a smacked arse throughout. He never smiled for the photos...
