    2024/25 Michael Vincent Keane

He ducked his head to try and flick a cross out rather than using his body position and height to head it back where it came from. He's the personification of a club that CAN move on and progress but via the manager refuses to. He's genuinely awful.

    Transfer Rumour Kalvin Phillips

    Phil this is nonsense.

    Everton Summer 2024 Transfer Thread

That's interesting, I didn't know that either. Ultimately, if he signs, he will need to prove he's not lost the fire and the reasons you mention (and others) have caused this slump. I really hope he's still got it. Under Bielsa he was everything I'd want in an Everton central midfield player...

    Everton Summer 2024 Transfer Thread

I'm with you that we've spent tons of money and have had very little return. Which I guess is why the deal has to be a good deal which incentivises all parties. There have been some success stories too though, where we've given players opportunities and they've given us good service. Gareth...

    Everton Summer 2024 Transfer Thread

I think the chances of him recovering both mentally and physically from 18 months without any football and then being able to find form, all within the period of 26 Jan to 19 May were pretty much zero. Clearly he didn't help himself getting sent off. To me, Kalvin Phillips is a top player...

    Graeme Sharp

Rather than being a stooge, I think it's far more likely Sharpe thought he could help from the inside. He's a legend. Time to move on.

    2023/24 Dele

No matter what the BBC have said, which differs to Sky, there must have been movement in the performance and activity related clauses due to Spurs. There's no way a club in our state is committing to an "up to £40m" deal, the first tranche of which would be due in 7 games. Especially for a guy...

    2023/24 Dele

This is the crux. Thelwell and Dyche are tasked with progressing a side without cash. They'll have to take a couple of risks. This is clearly one.

    2023/24 Andre Gomes

Proper fit. And his first season was really good. Bulked up too much after his injury, clearly in an attempt to reduce risk of getting hit again. Slowed him down even more and became someone who needed carrying. Carlo deployed him best. Class act as a geezer though. Wish him well.

Who's your money on in the takeover 'battle'?

Absolutely agree But you'd hope that a restructuring of debt and cash injection would eradicate / reduce the crippling interest we must be paying to all the creditors bar 777 (who I think we begin paying back in 2026, according to The Athletic). The easing of interest should stop the rot.

Players you'd take from the relegated teams?

Charlie Taylor?! That would be the rubber stamping of The Mersey Burnley. He's absolutely woeful.

Most talented player we've had in the PL era?

I genuinely believe in that first 3 or 4 months, James Rodriguez was above pretty much anyone i've ever seen at Everton. The guy was ridiculous. Shame about the injuries but pretty sure he got something like 9 assists and 6 goals in 27 games. Crazy stuff.

    2023/24 Sean Dyche

He's clearly a decent manager. Horrid, horrid football though. Moyes' last few seasons with us are 10x what we're seeing. That being said, the squad Moyes had assembled by that time was pretty damn good.

Most talented player we've had in the PL era?

Football started way before the PL, obviously. But just to keep the list concise... Who do you think has been our most talented player since 1992? Use your own methodology for what constitutes talent. Consistency / Longevity / Position on the pitch / CV / Big game moments / ... up to you...

    2023/24 Jarrad Branthwaite

Totally get that way of looking at it. I just disagree. He's ridiculously good on the ball and we play long. £80m would also be a world record for a 21 year old CB, more than de Ligt who was a CL semi-finalist when he went from Ajax to Juventus. A bit of perspective is needed. I love him. I...

    2023/24 Jarrad Branthwaite

He's a bit of an alien, he's that good. But for 70-80m we must sell. Sell Onana too. Let the contracts expire and we've maybe got a chance of a solid rebuild. Let's be honest, we don't need an elegant ball-playing CB under Dyche.
  19. mkrudden

Would it get worse without Dyche?

If he keeps us up, I don't see any benefit from keeping in. If he's given more time, the style of play will catch up with him. Of that, there is little doubt.
