Does Moyes' reign look better with hindsight given the dismal performances of his successors?

But the question is: with the benefit of hindsight, was his "negativity" justified? Martinez stopped being stale and boring and definitely freshened things up. But 2014-15 and beyond have been the cost of 2013-14. Whereas under Moyes there would have been no such decline.

    Sam Allardyce

Sam recognizes that this is the best shot he'll get. He's not getting hired at a Top 6 club. As made up as he must be he is putting his absolute all into this job simply because this could be the pinnacle of his career (determining what he does after Everton as well). We're getting a motivated...

UK Coaching Talent Coach of the Year - Finalist David Unsworth

Because he should stay in charge. Everton have no idea who to hire as manager. We've had a decade of stability under one manager followed by Roberto followed by Koeman. Our next hire will be poor, whoever it is.

    2017/18 Oumar Niasse

He clearly took a dive to go down. Nice though, look at this as an enforced break. Oumar is quickly becoming our most important player. Maybe it's best that he doesn't run himself into the ground by December.

Simply not true. Rooney has not been the problem this year. He needs a more realistic assessment of his physical abilities and a better training regimen but he definitely should have a role on this team.

Going to be loads of penalty time here. Unfortunate to see Gomes go off as he did but definitely a positive.

When Unsworth clapped right there, I realized what Barton meant with his "glorified PE" comment.

    Bring back Chang...

Having SportPesa as a shirt sponsor is incredibly small-time. I'd have traded Sigurdsson's 45m (even back in August when we thought we were getting a talisman) for having a boss sponsor-less kit (or some cheeky uber-local sponsor, none of that Unicef tosh) for a few years.

    David Moyes

Everton are a unique beast. We actually believe we're not a small club, which itself makes us a big club. When Everton win and are top it doesn't feel like the world is topsy-turvy (as it did when, say, Huddersfield beat United on Saturday) but that everything's right in the world. Yet when...

That said, any arguments I can think of are entirely in the abstract and don't revolve around Koeman specifically.
