    Happy St. Andrew's Day

To all our Scottish Blues, Happy St. Andrew's Day. A little about the man whose saltire cross features in the Scottish and Union flags: He was born between 5 and 10 AD, was from Galilee, and his brother was Simon Peter. Having met Jesus, he went to Peter and introduced him to Jesus. The...

Virgin reporting he is set to be announced as new Irish manager. I would be very pleased with this if true.

    Gerry Ryan RIP

Very sad to read of his death at just 68. Although he played for Bohs, as a Rovers fan I always liked him. Tommy Docherty signed him for Derby then he went to Brighton helping them to promotion. He was also part of the Brighton team that took United to a replay in the Cup Final. Always honest...

    Goodison Memories

This excellent book arrived this morning. Well done Steve Zocek. Nice Foreword from Motty whose first commentary was on radio at GP and his last ever was at GP v Palace. Astonished that Merson is so complimentary saying Goodison is one of his favourite grounds and regarding the 80s team..."...

    Next Season 2022-23

Now that the Relegation thread is thankfully irrelevant I am bold enough to suggest that we now look forward to next season in this thread. I hope for a clearance of deadwood in the summer, and very careful buying of players that have proven records of not being sicknotes.

    Airtricity League of Ireland 2022

Well tonight sees Rovers v St Pat's in the President's Cup (similar to the Charity Shield - League winners v Cup Winners). The league itself starts next week. Hopefully Rovers maintain their form although I think it will be much tighter this season.
