    Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I think he's related to Alan Ball in some way so he'll do for me.

Pat Van Den Hauwe or Leighton Baines

Baines is the best full back I've seen for Everton. Very close between him and Gary Stevens though. Imagine those two playing in the same side!

Your own sentimental memories of Goodison.

Mine is pretty simple, walking up the steps and seeing all that green for the first time and having that tingle down my spine. No matter how many times I've done it I still get a tingle walking in. Amazing place which will be greatly missed.

    Could be stem cell injections?

    2024/25 David Moyes

I agree, always seemed to be missing that one bit of class to finish it off. For example we kept Liverpool largely at bay on Wednesday but two bits of that 'something from nothing' by Salah just cancelled out all the hard work. It's gutting, if we'd have had that bit of 'extra' under Moyes back...

    2024/25 Iliman Ndiaye

Yeah, agreed it's not a conclusive test especially when you add swelling/muscle constriction (he'd been sprinting round prior). Only a scan can give you a full indication. It is a horrid injury and I can see why they call it a career ender. The rehab from it can be so frustrating getting to a...

    Davy Weir

He has a ceiling definitely but he's far from bang average. As a club we're miles off that ceiling too. If he finishes his contract and has us as a top 8 side again that's a good position for a new manager to come in and do something more. My hope is he's here to stabilise and get get us into a...

Lachman test, didn't see them do it at the time but could have been missed. Hope it's not the ACL I had three ops on mine and still have issues. Especially bad for someone who twists and turns like he does.

    2024/25 Beto

This 100%, play to his strengths and he will cause problems for defenders. He's not a hold up player he's off the shoulder getting in behind the defence. He's not amazing but he'll put a shift in and score a few if we get him in the correct positions. I love his attitude too, plays from the heart.

    2024/25 David Moyes

I think we actually played some good football with Moyes. The issue for me was he reverted to functional football when it came to the top sides. I never felt he had the confidence to go for it in tougher games. The football under Moyes was light years away from the last couple of seasons. On the...

    Your 1st game.

Newport County FA Cup game, I think it was 2-1 and my main memory is being bitterly cold.

The next manager appointment (new thread)

I agree it's a risk but if you look at the Premier League 'experienced' managers we've hired (Rafael, Big Sam, Dyche) it's not that much of a risk. The last Manager we employed without experience of the premier league was Moyes and he didn't do bad, granted he'd had a few seasons in the...

The next manager appointment (new thread)

I thought it was fine. He experimented in a game that wasn't that important. One of the failings of many managers is not to have alternative plans and international friendlies or the nations league is an ideal time to try out something different rather than have to try things on the fly in a...

The next manager appointment (new thread)

Agree with this 100%. I think Carsley is an interesting coach, this article on his u21's run is very good https://learning.coachesvoice.com/cv/lee-carsley-tactics-and-style-of-play/

    Our next manager?

That 80's side had the same thing Man U had under Fergie. If you want a scrap we'll out scrap you. If you want to play we'll out play you. It becomes less about tactics and systems and more about character and desire.

    Everton Transfer Thread 2016

Agreed but it would still be a concern . I do like him as a player though and if he can maintain fitness he would definitely be an asset.

    Everton Transfer Thread 2016

I've ruptured my ACL 3 times (same knee) and have had all sorts of issues since. Not just the knee but I've had hip problems, ankle issues and a lot of muscle injuries. I first did mine when I was 25 (I'm now 37) and have not been able to get a cognisant run of games together since. So yeah I'd...

    Ross Barkley

Agree with this. Ross seems to be one of those players who plays his best when riled.

Next manager discussion (poll reset 21/05/2016)

The more I read about Marcelo Bielsa the more I'd like him at Everton. The way he plays sound ideal for the Premiership. The only doubt I have is he's a bit mental and could walk at any point also he's not the youngest. I'd have him and get an assistant who can learn from him and take us on...
