The half time commentary we had was Peter Schmeical absolutely bemused at the decision. He described it very similar as I did, that it was a "rash" challenge by the Chelsea player. He's absolutely right.

At the start of the game I said to my lad that this referee is a "manufactured" one, no real understanding of the game. That "goal" for Fulham, it was a reckless challenge by the Chelsea player that led to the foot being trod on. It wasn't the Fulham player being careless. Absolutely shocking...

I was in Cairns last week for a few days with Mrs B. Long hours in the pool binge-listening to desert island discs with lashings of Castlemain XXXX. I love Brisbane and Nth Qld, my favourite holiday destination. Must try and visit Perth sometime though.

I don't think anyone is being a boo boy to him. He didn't have a good game in what should have been an opportunity to shine. He now has strong competition for the positions he can play in. He has to do better.

The manager's head has gone and the players know it. I watched them play Fulham and it was bizarre that he wouldn't watch their penalty kick. Even more bizarre was a little later when they were defending a corner and he wouldn't watch that either. He was just staring at the ground. Heads gone...

I was watching the game with my lad, and thats exactly what I said.

Watched "Splash", with Tom Hanks, Darryl Hannah and John Candy. Mrs B had never seen it before. She loved it. Old movie now I guess but still funny and so many great scenes.

Just finished watching. We never looked like scoring, which is the most disappointing thing for me.

Just read that to Mrs B , oddly enough while sitting in the departure lounge of Brissy Airport. She's in stitches as she knows that is so me.

Currently with Mrs B on our way to see Sons of the East play in Brisbane tomorrow evening, Top Aussie band. Be easier if they came to wellington but I'm happy to swap the 8c here for the 21c of Brisbane. Off to Cairns afterwards to make a week of it.
