Tbh, before you were linked with him seriously he was an overrated, diving cheating cryarse who failed when he got the chance of a big club. Your fan survey had 71% at "meh" or "swerve".
Now, all of a sudden, he's the sole opportunity for Everton to get to the next level.
At the first sign of a bad game for us it'll be "glad we swerved that blert, not worth £10m"
The truth is, at the moment he is invaluable to us. The longer the window went on the less chance he was going. It's not Palace's fault that you seem to have put all your eggs in one basket or that we would roll over for a lesser valuation or players we didn't want.
We now have to deal with the consequences of Wilf's advisers playing Everton and Palace for mugs.

Nobody with rational thinking blames Palace mate. All down to Everton not having a plan B. Didn't mind getting Zaha either way. Issue for me is we will see alot of appearances from Theoldo Walcotto who will miss several easy sitters, like he did last season.

Why on earth wait until 2 days before the window before getting serious? Why have no plan B? We had a kid in Lookman who i'd rather have given the game time to last season than Walcott, at least he has intelligence on the ball even if his attitude was awful.

Ultimately Zaha would have been an improvement on Beranrd but also meant we could play a front line of Zaha, Richarlison and Bernard if we had to.

Zaha is worth 100m or whatever to yourselves, of course he is. Whether he'd be great here no one knows, there's no doubt he's a good player but not an 80m+ one to us or anyone else. And that's fine.

As you say, the real issue here is that we've put all our eggs in one basket. And again with Zouma. I thought with Brands at the club we'd moved past such naivety but seemingly not.

Hodgson saying CP valuation not met so no transfer. Think that is rubbish TBH when we were offering two players one of which they have signed any way. CP valuation was way OTT because they have to pay Man U so much back therein is their problem as it will be for all time.

Yet a lot of people in here are literally worshiping brand like he was the second coming...do we really need a director of football that get paid loads yet the only positive has been digne signing? Rich was Silva's signing...

You do know you'll end up selling him for less now?

I’m not ITK. But I’m feeling that this is a done deal. Most probs overpriced, and its being kept under wraps for whatever reason. But Zaha is a blue.

He’ll be 27 next season. Plenty of time for him to move to a top club, but nobody’s going to spend the 100 mil Palace are demanding.
He's a winger who relies on his pace and athleticism. They tend to be the types of players who drop off early on. It's a tough one for him.
