January Transfer Window 2026

We probably have to face the fact that Gana is in his last season for us though, we are going to need a replacement and Hackney could play that holding role in midfield.
What the club sees as the future of the midfield is one of the most interesting questions for me at the moment. I'm sure we'll sign and sell some midfielders in the summer but which ones or what types could be TOTALLY different depending on questions like:

Will we play KDH as an 8 long term?
What position do we give Armstrong minutes and how many?
What does Rohl do?

Yeah he might come good, but watching the u21's once he got chances to come on he didn't stick out at all.
That Tyler Morton looked twice the player he did.

There's a distinction between alright to mediocre seasons and atrocious, I guess I should clarify I feel like Richie is capable of displaying moments of finesse and I think he's a strong and direct moving with the ball which I think would benefit us on the break and could see him as a solid loan if feasible. I do get your reservations about acquiring an injury prone player that would have minimal resale value and only a couple more seasons left. I apologize for being snappish I don't think you deserved that , I just strongly disagreed with your take on Richie and it made me flip 😂. Obviously you're entitled to your own perspective.
No need to apologise Curtis and I didn't find you snappish at all. The whole point of this forum is for us to voice our opinions and we're all going to have different perspectives which is actually great as we're all Evertonians who want us to be successful and we all have our thoughts on how this should be achieved. Ultimately though it's futile as we don't have the final say but it's fun to butt heads in the meantime

We have Armstrong coming back next season, just think this lad will be a bench warmer stuck between a bundle of CM's
I agree Armstrong should be involved next season.
Gana will be a year older and presumably starting to have less impact.
Garner is out of contract at the end of the season and there is talk about him moving to RB.
Rohll sadly looks injury prone
Moyes seems to like KDH at 10 ( I think we all agree he should be played deeper ).

All in all we need a squad and options needed for central midfield.

They'll all be older surely ? Not just Gana.

Yeah I don't think or "quietly" hope Gana isn't still a name on the teamsheet.

Rohl - nobody knows. But that was still an investment that can't be written off yet, or even sold on if injuries do beat him.

Garner - hope he signs on the dotted line.

Just say Tim, Gana, Rohl and even Charly only having a year left on his contract.
Aren't seemed worthy by Moyes than we do need to look, but we would also have to move some of them on to free up cash/places.

Full backs and Striker have to been priority at the moment.

Just because of Afcon and injuries, midfield is not a serious issue. Its the strongest part of our squad.

Teamtalk are reporting RB Leipzig & Eintracht Frankfurt are interested in Mykolenko to replace Brown & Baum.
