Match Thread Chelsea v Everton. Sat Dec 13th. 3pm

….i’d imagine Moyes only decision is who to play in central midfield with the impressive Garner & KDH. I actually think he’ll have 3 serious considerations but my take on probability of starting is;

Alcaraz 40%
Gueye 35%
McNeil 25%

I like Alcaraz in away matches, he transitions the ball particularly well. Downside is he can be sloppy in possession but I’d go with him here. Gueye gives KDH licence to get forward, I think Moyes wants his most talented players in the top third. Downside is he’s been absent for 3 games and is about to go missing again. McNeil must’ve impressed Moyes with that cameo against Forest, he was involved in so much of what we did and looked to link well with Grealish and KDH. Downside, his form had been poor to that point.

Alcaraz for me but I wouldn’t be in the least surprised if Moyes chooses a different option.

Terrible record at Chelsea. You never quite know what Chelsea is going to turn up, due to them having so many young players and a volatile manager. If we go with the right attitude and frustrate them we have a chance, but if we lose 2 or 3 I wouldn't be surprised.
Agree. Chelsea are the most talented and inconsistent bunch around. They can go from outplaying Arsenal with 10 men to losing 3-1 to Leeds in the space of a 4 days. Let’s hope we get the bad version.

Won’t be shocked if he brings Gana back on and moves Garner to right back again. Chary stays at the 10 if that happens. I just can’t get behind moving KDH back to that role given how good he is as an 8.

It's a real test a crunch game at the top - a win us what we have to go for - COYB ;)
I stated the last 4 games would be crucial for DM as it was a case of falling near the bottom or rising up in the league- he has been realistic that our squad may not be strong enough to maintain it but apart from the blip v Newcastle we have done brilliantly pity the Afcon has got in our way though !
