Charly as a proper 10 - with every movement on the front foot ( bar obvious recycles) really gave the team a perfect balance.

I assumed (wrongly) once all the signings had landed that the team would have been Dibling on the right, Ndiaye in the 10 with KDH and Garner in the midfield two. The other variation was Grealish in the 10 and Ndiaye on the left. We do actually have a lot of options compared to previous years.

DM knows much more though about the players condition and readiness to play at this level.

I do wonder if he can be an effective 8 against better opposition. That said, we'll be set up on the counter next week. If Dewsbury-Hall can keep up his good form he'll be vital in transitioning the ball to the front 4.

Have a couple of Chelsea mates who really liked him. They basically said he won them the Conference League but didn’t get a fair crack in the PL.

Sure, that's pretty clear though it doesnt dispute that he was available for a transfer which typically means the selling club are open to offers - not just to get their money back.

It’s got a whiff of Doucoure about it as a transfer. He’s obviously a much more technical player. But a guy who has previously been borderline PL level that you pay too much for at the wrong point in his career who doesn’t quite fit as one thing or the other and just sticks around never allowing the team to raise their level.

Yeah I’m worried. That was so anonymous and when he did get the ball pretty poor.

I am absolutely retching at the thought of comparing him to Tom Cleverley. Mainly because the comparison makes sense, but also that we've had to endure such a disappointing level of performance in the role compared to what KDH is able to produce.
