2025/26 Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

He's clearly been used deeper in the last 2 games and been motm in both.

Previously he was the advanced midfielder and ineffective in comparison.

He is not an advanced midfielder / 10 in any shape or form.
I mean if you watched us before the sending off he was still clearly the nominal ‘10’.

We don’t really play a true 10 and haven’t since we had Doucoure as that player always drops in to make an extra man and supports in the buildup to a degree.

He was playing the exact same position he has all season by and large, look where he scores his goal from as well.

….the only supposed Evertonian when KDH scored;

TBF he wasn't. It's subtle, because he likes to get forward from midfield anyway, but you can tell from the position on the pitch of the other two centre mids and, to a lesser extent, the defensive shape. We set up as a 433 yesterday, as we did against Fulham.

Appreciate it can be hard to tell sometimes, but there's definitely a difference around starting positions between the early stages of last night and the Fulham game Vs most of the other games we've lined up this season.

He dropped in more when we were down to ten but at the start of the game any difference was negligible. Let’s see Saturday what he does. I’m hoping we see KDH Garner with Dibling on the right but I imagine it’ll be Tim.

….he’s a superior version of Doucoure, going where he can best affect the game. It’s exactly why Moyes bought him and didn’t give in to Doucoure’s pay demands. Don’t get hung up about him being a no 10 or a no8, he’s just a footballer.

It’s ridiculously hard work but he brings us quality in possession where Doucoure didn’t.

Moyes historically plays a number 10 who's good in the air (Fellaini, Cahill, Soucek) so I'm not sure he sees KDH as his number 10. It will be interesting to see in the summer if we try and get a taller number 10 and KDH plays LCM.
