Both good names for Dave's autobiography!
I suspect the looming presence of Croke Park meant they didn't want to call it Dublin Stadium. "Daviva" is a classic example of the corporate erasure of identity. It'll always be Lansdowne Road to me.Never heard the Aviva being called the Dublin Arena before!!
I'm not sure how you can be more "effective" than being entirely independent and underpinned by government legislation. If there are grievances they can be communicated via the FAB and/or the various individuals and groups represented on that board. Fans have more power than they think.... it's always been a matter of unity. When that's there, even whole boards can be deposed.
Has the added bonus of stencilling the word 'tit' on the wall behind.View attachment 332693

I place FABs in the same category as Supporters Trusts: well meaning but bureaucratic and containable; led by a cadre of people with organisational skills that set them apart from most other fans and who end up propping up football clubs.
And if they weren't then government wouldn't have sanctioned them, because the football industry lobby are a powerful voice.
There's one thing football clubs fear: organic football supporters groups who coalesce around a single issue that's incendiary and that they're powerless to control...such as opposition to exploitative owners / owners that dont invest / clubs who sell grounds or try and force an unpopular move elsewhere. They fear the guerrilla tactics that those types of organisation can conduct.
Great post mate. 100%.
Staged managed, glove puppets. Token patseys created by the club, in the hope it will be taken serious in terms of fan engagement - that they care 0 for.
When i saw them on tour with the Club in the States a few years back and then that Moshiri interview, it was game over in terms of any credibility or gravitas.
Schedule for Euro2028 to be revealed today, so it will be interesting to see how many games we get.
Following on from this,
Everton will host a R16 game on 24/6 featuring the runner up of Group B (England's group).
Fully released at 20:28 tonight.
Just the one game then mate?
