It depends. Alcaraz is a bit of a weird one really, there's no obvious reason why he should find it so much harder out wide but he just looks totally lost out there. I can only assume it's a mental thing with him because there are times when he just has to do exactly the same role but 20 yards closer to the touchline and yet he looks like it's a completely alien concept. For most players I just don't think it's a big deal, I think probably 25% or more of outfield players in the PL regularly play in a position that they don't think is their ideal role, whether that's a centre half playing full back, someone who would rather be central playing wide or vice versa, an '8' playing as a '6' *throws up in mouth*, it's just a normal part of modern football. In context the point being made was effectively 'just because it's where he would rather play doesn't mean he'd actually be any good there' and as I said, while it may not be true specifically in KDH's case, as basic premise it's absolutely 100% true.
