2025/26 Jordan Pickford

Second goal I think he should have done better for me but that's if I'm being critical
I don’t think he was properly set due to moving across and Tarkowski. Ekitike showed the difference between a what you get with a £70-odd million striker and Beto/Barry with the quick touch and strike. This leads to Tarkowski’s odd attempt to block/tackle with his right and I think this impacts Pickford’s reaction.

Given Jordan Pickford is England No 1 it seems a bit fanciful to think he's underrated.

But here he was making his 300th Premier League appearance and making top quality crucial saves to keep Everton in a game they were only really in from once the second half began.

Pickford made two quick fire saves in the opening two minutes and was doing his level best to keep a disjointed Everton close enough in the game to stage a comeback, even when Munoz broke the deadlock.

Without Pickford's heroics, not least keeping out a point-blank effort from inside the six-yard box from Marc Guehi in the early Palace onslaught, this would have been a game Everton had no hope of coming back in.

Palace fans goaded him with chants of 'England's No 1' towards his opposite number Dean Henderson but it was Pickford who had the last laugh.

It still got me thinking as to where he ranks in the Premier League because when the league's top goalkeepers get discussed it is always the likes of Alisson Becker and David Raya that get brought up.

Pickford is as good as any goalkeeper in this league and here was the latest example as to why.

Been saying it for years. Maybe it's because I used to play in goal, but I remember how pleased I was when we signed that kid from Sunderland in 2017. I knew we'd be fine for years. Little did I know he'd be the reason we weren't visiting Vale Park on a regular basis...

I rarely post in his thread because we all know he’s great and there’s hardly any need to say anything but we shouldn’t lose sight of the fact that we’re about 5 years into consistently excellent performances now. One of our best players of the PL era, no doubt.
He saves our bacon so many times it is unreal.

And I believe his friendship with Grealish was one of the reasons he considered the loan move and has settled in so well with the squad.

Think he means under appreciated.

I probably shouldn't admit this, but when I looked over to the away end and they were singing that, I thought finally a teams fans giving him the credit he deserves..... good on them!

Took until the second half for me to realise..... what an absolute idiot.
