2025/26 Thierno Barry

It's not pushing it at all. I think it just reflects how much the game has become stats orientated. Sometimes something a player does in the early build up of a goal is better than what's recorded as an 'assist'.

Its not a big deal. But you might as well say pickford was involved.
Listen mate i was on here a few weeks ago and someone was telling me Aznou statistically was the best fullback in Europe last season.

Why not just give the lad the next 5 games and let him try and build some partnerships/confidence. I’m absolutely certain at worst, he will be no worse than Beto. Pointless giving him 10-20 minutes here and there.
Absolutely. Sick of half our squad being classed as “not ready.” We haven’t the luxury of keeping them out of team for a full season, as we have no other options and players only like this if they still pick up a medal.

Given how many match’s he has played in his carrier, he isn’t going to suddenly be PL ready due to what they do at FF. More likely to pick up a 6 month injury there than develop as a player.

Barry was clearly involved in the first goal. His hold up play and pass (which was a difficult play) created the space for everything that came afterwards. He played a small part in the second goal but he still got on the end of something, retained possession found a blue shirt allowing the move to develop. He was clearly involved in both goals in terms of a positive contribution which was only three or four passes away from the actual goal.

The issue at the moment is that we don't have a clear No.1 Striker. Both will think they deserve to be be playing, hence why Moyes keeps switching it. It looks like he's hoping that one of them gives him a reason to stay in the team, rather than selecting the one that was least bad last game.

If he plays Barry for 6 games regardless of contribution, Beto will be wanting off (Maybe not a bad thing)

Again its perception isnt it. You just said in a small part on the 2nd goal. Its how far you choose to go back on a goal. Everyone has a part. When people start pulling up they were "involved" you know other stuff isnt going so well.
Like i said its not a big deal. I'd just rather be talking about a striker directly scoring or directly assisting.

He hasn't made any impact the past few matches, but those goals don't happen with Beto on the pitch, so there's that. Low measure of success, but it's where we are at the moment.

Thats a fair comment.
Im getting frustrated that we cant seem to buy a forward who's good to go.
They all look off it. 17m for Chermiti just gone. I couldnt even tell you what he was like.

I think Barry shows a lot of promise. He has good movement, a decent touch and looks to get involved. His stats suggest he can be a threat in the air although we've not really seen that yet. It's a new league and he's a younger player, I think Moyes is probably doing the right thing in putting him in each game either to start or off the bench. It'll take time to find his feet, and also get used to the style. I don't think he's had many chances yes in front of goal, but that will hopefully come.
