Players out on loan 2025/26

you think a player that's struggling to get a game in the championship would be making a difference for us in the prem?
To be fair it is a weird one. Seeing him play for us, I'd have assumed he'd walk into any Championship starting XI, but it doesn't always work out that way. If he's gonna be on a bench every week, ours would probably be better. At least he is training with better players every day, then.

If he's not getting game time surely it's in the contract that we recall him and loan elsewhere?
Cause that's the entire point of the loan, to give him minutes.

I don't have any issue with the Armstrong situation at them moment. Loans aren't just a chance to show off and be the best player in the team, it's about actually learning and developing. It can be a good experience for him to have to earn a place in the team and work hard to stay there, it's not like he's not playing at all he's come on in every game so far. If it gets to January and he still hasn't worked his way into the starting XI then maybe we need to have a rethink but people need to stop being so precious about these things, this is competitive football at a high level, we can't just take our bat home because Preston aren't building their team around him after 3 games.

Let's see how it goes at Preston. Personally, i always thought we should send him back to Derby. They've got a manager who is used to him and certainly trusts him. Couldn't really see the advantage in sending him to Preston to be honest. From a managerial point of view Eustace is more in line with Moyes and how he plays. I also think Eustace has a good track record with younger players and is committed to playing them.

Harrison Armstrong went off injured in the 80th minute tonight away at Hull. Looked like a calf strain as he tried to reach a flick on at the far post. He walked off ok so hopefully nothing too serious.

I had a free evening so managed to catch the game. Preston played a 5-3-2 formation with Armstrong on the left of the midfield 3. He was tasked with pressing Hull as they brought the ball out, getting back to cover and progressing the ball when Preston attacked. He did nothing spectacular but it was a good, disciplined performance. Tidy on the ball, plenty of interceptions and a couple of strong tackles (plus a neat back heel in the first half). Preston were leading 2-0 at the break but Hull hit back in the second half to level the game and it finished 2-2. Thierry Small did score a good goal for Preston but was defensively poor playing at right wing back and his crossing was not great either. Preston are currently 6th.

Francis Okoronkwo started and played 65 minutes for Lincoln v Manchester United U21s in the EFL Trophy. His side were winning 1-0 when he went off and they finished up 3-0 victors.

I’ve watched both Derby and Pre - Armstrong Preston this season and Preston are by far the better side with three decent midfielders in Whiteman, Devine and McCann, hence Armstrong not getting a starting spot straight away . I think he’ll thrive in their midfield much more so than he would in a Derby team who are likely to be at the opposite end of the table from Preston.

…..decent score for Armstrong from BBC;
