New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

We have always been leasing it since the start of the build (directly or indirectly), as that was where LoR had their site cabins, material storage and parking. I assume we've just extended that lease and are utilising it for match day parking in the interim whilst negotiating the purchase. I was somewhat surprised there was no planning application for the temporary parking, but perhaps it is covered by the existing consent.

I'm quite sure if the purchase goes through, then we will be incorporating some sort of multi-storey car park within the development proposals as there is a clear need, plus we had one within the original stadium planning application before it was removed and replaced with the Western terrace.
Noticed after the league games there's an exit from the south that cuts through Nelson Dock (that I keep forgetting about annoyingly). I wonder what the nature of the lease is as if it's the full dock then that suggests they will have done a deal with the HK Suite.

Hopefully we get some news on it soon.

Went to the ‘cafe’ today…. Was ok. Quite a few people in there and it’s good to have things going on on non-match days.

Can only be good things!

Do we know if any of the car parks are going to be used for the shop etc?

Nelson Dock is the bit in blue, the HK Suite is further south in the corner of Collingwood Dock where I've circled green.

There's not a lot of developable area within Salisbury/ Collingwood Docks so can't see us being interested in anything that far. Pity really because the dockers clock (Victoria Tower) is in Salisbury Dock and would be nice to see that restored!

Of course, yeah.

I’ve been thinking about this myself.

I’ve not counted them, but I’d estimate there are now hundreds of parking spaces right around Nelson Dock that the club have recently added.

You don’t decide you need that many and then give them up.

The only possible way to keep that many spaces and develop Nelson Dock is to build a multi-storey as part of the development.

Yeah definitely. Parking is absolutely needed as a long term solution. Even putting aside match days and major events, the club will have plenty of staff and if they want the venue to be used all year round for smaller events, opening the bars and restaurants etc then some sort of parking is needed. Even more so when factoring in leisure/ residential development on Nelson Dock.

The very first plan was for a multi-storey on the opposite side of the water channel for 700 vehicles. LCC didn't like that so it was incoporated into the stadium structure...but they didn't like that either as it made the whole thing 'lob sided' so it was removed altogether. Obviously the need for parking hasn't gone away!

The MSCP at Princes Dock has around 760 spaces so we'd need something of a similar scale if that's the sort of number we want to provide. No idea what sort of number we've currently got on the temporary car park.

I expect it would bring in some decent revenue for the club so would be quite frankly amazed if any redevelopment of Nelson Dock doesn't include a fairly substantial MSCP.

If i had to guess where they would put it, then somewhere here looks like the best place. Away from the Waterfront, doesn't block the view along the dock system towards the Pier Head and provides the simplest access in and out.

Private boxes are still the top earners, and many smaller grounds have far more than 18. Could be wrong, but can't think of any new stadium of 50k+ capacity that has so few boxes. Put it this way, Spurs has 80 boxes and more lounge space seats too. I also doubt that it is a case of not enough business demand in the city, LFC have over 60 boxes plus more lounge space too. Arsenal over 120 boxes and a whole corporate tier. Maybe they'll be retrofitted in the future as they measure the demand (if space allows).

I'm probably wrong Tom, I remember reading about it when I was interested in stadiums when ours was in planning.

Believe it was due to people preferring to be on more social areas than a confined area which in some cases are people you don't know.

I know most of the boxes at BMD are smaller for four people (the ones at goodison had about 14 people in each one I think?) which makes sense for those who can afford it and like their own privacy (players or celebrities etc). See the pics I've uploaded.

Tried googling as I'm sure Arsenal got rid of all the lower tier boxes for more social hospitality, but could only either this expansion plans or when kier Starmer had a box there.

Arsenal got rid of all the boxes in the lower tier and replaced with with social spaces. Not sure if it
