2025/26 Jack Grealish

Always been a top player.

There's a misconception that he didn't fit into Pep's game or flopped but he was one of the main men in their treble seasons. city fans considered him one of the best players in that period and he played all the big games and finals etc. Guardiola doesn't put you in those games unless you're top notch. Look at Phillips for a comparison, city signed him and he never got a look in. Guardiola clearly worked out pretty quickly he wasn't up to the job. That was never the case with Grealish, he played plenty and in the big ones.

Things had dropped off a bit for him since then, who knows what the reasons are. He keeps saying that he's finally enjoying his football again, you can really read into that what you want.

He's a brilliant footballer and I actually think he's at the right place. He could certainly be featuring at a club with more chances of competing for trophies right now but I think he really enjoys the feeling around Everton as a club.

He's looked different class to every player on the pitch since he arrived and that includes the opposition. That's why city paid a fortune but he was playing alongside De Bruyne, Rodri etc. so he just slotted in rather than stood out, but you don't just slot in with those unless you're excellent, you'll be found out. Once you see him in a different context, you see clearly what an excellent footballer he is.

I notice how the press headlines are about the refs performance after Grealish spoke about it.

What a difference having a superstar makes.

The ref was obviously poor but not worse than we've come to expect from this league.

I love the fact that Grealish clearly cares that much to be running straight at the ref after the match rather than chatting under his hand to Salah and swapping shirts.

Biggest problem he's going to have over the coming months is teams putting 2 men on him when he has the ball. The onus has got to be on Mykolenko to offer something but he's nowhere near good enough. In fact, you can just hear team talks now where opponents say Mykolenko's feet is exactly where they want the ball to be.

If some of the Everton midfielders could finish he’d have had three or four assists. Bradley would have had a red as well. He was absolutely embarrassed by Grealish.
If the ref did his job properly Bradley would have mate. It’s nuts, the kid looked terrified every time Jack got the ball, turned inside out and up and down by him, but they think he did well?!? Mental.

The rs do love a thug though don’t they?

So do the comms team of fletch the blert and ally mcco*k who started some nonsense about Bradley being related to Yates or another old grock of theirs, having a good old laugh about the persistent fouling he was getting away with. Dead funny lads, try just commentating on the match eh.

Still got some cult members actually saying that thug rb of theirs played Grealish well…..😳🤣
I don’t actual blame Bradley , he’s a relatively young lad marking up against a significantly better player . The only real way he has of challenging grealish is leaving one on him , the issue for me is he was allowed to get away with that .

If the referee had actually done his job then Bradley would have found himself on an early yellow and his game plan be completely hamstrung or he’d be off .

Said this to my son yesterday. First time weve had that level of English football 'personality' playing for us in God knows how long. Referees can not fail to take notice of him. About damn time.
