2025/26 David Moyes

Last decent spell of form we had against them was with Big Joe. A scouser through and through and an Evertonian through and through. He knew the importance of the derby and he knew how to wind them up big time.

Moyes will never ever understand what Big Joe and Howard knew about this fixture.

So I’ve just taken a look at the last 3 - 4 years of final premier league tables. In the last two years Liverpool have lost 4 games all year. City & Arsenal again similar numbers but do tend to fluctuate. but the most in the last 4 years the top side lost was 9. Across a whole season.

That suggests very few teams have making of these clubs. But then the problem goes deeper than Moyes when it comes to Everton and Liverpool, our mentality when it comes to
Liverpool isn’t a Moyes problem it’s an Everton problem.

Some people will never accept Moyes because of his first stint here, for whatever reason they have. It’s why him coming back is tougher than if we went out and picked up someone who had no history with club.

You’re entitled to your opinion of his record there, but for me he progresses us from a basket case club we have been and hopefully when he hands it over we are in a better place than when he arrived.
I'm not suggesting he won't over the season, but his record against the top teams wherever he has managed isn't great that's all I'm saying. if you don't understand why people are frustrated with him from the first time its largely because he played along with Kenwrights nonsense far too often due to the massive wages he was on at the time which has ultimately seen us fall behind our peers. Various comments at the time and the ridiculous situation and player bids with him going to Man Utd. I'm not his biggest fan by any stretch but I can appreciate the job he did last season for example and we will see where we are this season now we have a bit more of an attack.

I'm not a nationalist mate. Talk of nations is just right wing stuff, and I'll never be that.

I'm a scouser and that's that. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø
Is it? I think that's a very generalistic viewpoint. If I was right wing I'd argue against no foreign players at all. I just think as a football club you should represent your nation and city to some degree with the players you play and mix that with the foreign players who we've loved over the years like Iliman currently

As opposed to those other non top 4-6 managers who have great records away against the top teams.

Locals maybe, 'English' no.

If they wear an Everton shirt it doesn't matter where they're from.

Oh, and another thing from today about Moyes - that dugout interview he had with McCoist and the woman TNT presenter: at the end he's getting up to go back down to the dressing room with about 35 minutes to kick off and he says to McCoist "I'll sort that out for you" - presumably tickets or a pass for McCoists entourage.

It's the derby with just over half an hour to KO and he's arsed about fixing tickets up for that irritating Glaswegian bluffer.

This is how serious Moyes is at Anfield.

He should have told that feller "sorry, I'm trying to do my job here. GTF".

Just a little example of how unprofessional / lacking in seriousness and focus he is for these games against Liverpool.

Sorting tickets out when he should be in that dressing room going over the minutiae of the game plan and getting some fire in the players' bellies.

Just try and look like an actual football team that's all I want too see, that first half was shambolic and according to Grealish a few of the players had 'words' with the manager at half time. Second half was better, haven't said it wasn't, but we shouldn't be waiting 45min to get going in a derby imo.

Thats disgusting that really.

I heard he even slept the night before, an utter joke if you ask me, he should have been preparing for this game since he was a wee nipper in Glasgow.

It was an early start after they'd played in the CL midweek. We should have 'kin blitzed them. Any decent manager would have put them under immediate and sustained pressure at the back.

But Moyes hands them a game of attack v defence and a two goal cushion.

He's a complete 'kin duffer tactically.
