Bad ref decisions - for and against - season 2025/26

We’re biased, so we just don’t see decisions the same way when they go our way. PGMOL went on record as saying wolves should have been given a pen against us but nobody’s mentioned it in here. That’s fine and totally normal, but just goes to show that us keeping our own tally isn’t ever going to work because we’ll just ignore everything that doesn’t fit with the narrative.

Genuinely if it was the other way round, I wouldn't be up in arms about it.

Compare it the ones we've not been given.

It’s not really the point though, it’s dead easy for us to sit here and say we wouldn’t expect to be given that or the pen that Leeds got or whatever but then we’re here complaining about not getting a throw in or a corner or whatever as if it’s the end of the world.

Bit of a difference seeing the ball go off someone and should be a corner, than winning the ball legally.

I genuinely don’t remember a penalty we should’ve conceded against wolves and just went back and read the Sky match report and watched the highlights and nothing mentioned so not sure it was that clearcut?

What I was talking about was it evening out though, so even if it should’ve been a pen, we would still be owed quite a lot by my count.

Many games to go though!

Yes but my point is we’re not going to accurately remember whether things have evened out if we’re not actually taking any notice of decisions like the wolves one are we? On a wolves forum they’ll be counting that as one against them and ignoring one that’s gone for them and on this forum it’s the other way round. Like I said, it’s totally normal, it’s just important to be aware of it if people are actually going to act as if the thread is an accurate representation.

Yes decisions have gone in our favour on occasions, Forest a few years ago comes to mind. Wolves last season we got favourable decisions. However we all know RS would of been given 8 to 9 minutes added time, instead of 3. However RS continually get favourable decisions almost every game.

Yeah thats a slightly different argument. The yellow for the free kick and the amount of added time today were a joke, I have no doubt at all that that wasn’t coincidental. I was replying specifically to a point about us not getting stuff in our favour in general, it’s just natural that we’ll see borderline decisions against us as unfair and worthy of noting down but borderline decisions for us as ‘right’ and therefore quickly forgotten.

I understand your point but my point is that these things don’t even out for us, certainly not recently.

You are absolutely right that we will remember the bad calls against us more than the bad calls for us but we are a knowledgable fanbase on the whole and do understand the game we’re watching.

For example, against Brighton I felt we ‘got away with one’ because Wellbeck missed from six yards out, Mitoma hit the bar, someone else hit the post and Wellbeck missed a pen… however I can’t remember the last time I felt we ‘got away with one’ by poor refereeing in our favour and in fact in that very game we gave away a very soft penalty which was followed by Minteh doing almost the exact same thing in their box going unpunished.

I would love to be saying how bad the refereeing was to our benefit though, would absolutely love it.

But the whole point is that you won’t think that, that’s literally what I’m saying to you. You aren’t counting the wolves decision as us getting away with one, but if you were a wolves fan (or the PGMOL) you would be. You can’t say you understand the point if you’re going to ignore the very example that’s been given to you to back it up.

I hate this sort of stuff….:u know the refs and all the rest are biased towards the top few……it aint going to change…..so get on with it, and be better…..and beat the [Poor language removed]……thats it…..
