Sign a striker and champions league is ON. Right back and another midfielder to nail it.
There’s a higher gear for us to hit. We have to want to do it. We have to want to start the better striker even if it’s a bit riskier. We have to want to use our attacking options off the bench early enough to make real impacts. We have to want to approach games to win them by scoring goals, plural, every time out. It’s all mentality with this team right now. The talent is there in a way that very few other teams can match.Bit of a reality check today, I’ve felt like we have had a good start but when you look at the table and see we are below Sunderland and we have the same points as Leeds (who haven’t scored a goal in 60% of their games), it doesn’t look all that impressive.
Reality is we are not going to get officiated fairly against 5 or 6 clubs. Can't use today as measure of where we are. Its what we can do outside those matches that matter.Bit of a reality check today, I’ve felt like we have had a good start but when you look at the table and see we are below Sunderland and we have the same points as Leeds (who haven’t scored a goal in 60% of their games), it doesn’t look all that impressive.
Yes but taking aside the usual derby ref bias, we started too poorly, and we have already lost to a promoted side (again), and dropped points to a team who haven’t even scored a goal. 5 games 7 points is a very average return so far.Reality is we are not going to get officiated fairly against 5 or 6 clubs. Likely to stay around 8th/9th by 10pm tonight as Fulham (12th) would have to beat Brentford (15th) by 4 or vice versa to overtake us on GD, same with United (17th) with Chelsea
City and Newcastle can knock us out the top half with wins tomorrow
7 points from 15 is moderate. Early days yet. A win over West Ham and we're back into decent start territory. A loss in the League Cup midweek and the pressure will rightly start to ramp up - as it should.Bit of a reality check today, I’ve felt like we have had a good start but when you look at the table and see we are below Sunderland and we have the same points as Leeds (who haven’t scored a goal in 60% of their games), it doesn’t look all that impressive.
If the manager really wants to go for it, I think the 120m he spent over the summer should have us competing for top half and possibly Conference League football. If he wants to take knives to gunfights, it'll be 12th.I think this is a low 50s point season. So fine for steady progress (and big improvement generally on last few seasons) but I don't see european qualification as being realistic as there isn't enough around the pitch to push towards getting over 60 points.
Last season Brighton finished on 61 points and didn't make Europe so it is a big ask. Forest had an incredible run during the winter but they only finished 7th in the end.
Got to be looking at atleast 4 points out of the next two games, west ham esp have be looking for the winThis Liverpool game is irrelevant to our overall season. If we can win the next two I will believe that we can do it, these games will give us an indication of our season pathway I imagine.
If we get 6 I believe we will push on probably beating enough of the lower teams to perhaps get that conference spot
4 points who knows
Less than 4 and we finish between 9th and 11th
