I know what they’ve said about only allowing A4 size bags, but for both the Brighton and Villa games I’ve seen several people with pretty large backpacks šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø
Cheers. I thought that would be the case. I'll literally have a spare t shirt and underwear in there and probably a book for the train so hopefully no issues.

Yeah if its just one stand expanded (East for example) then it affects the aesthetics of the roof compared to the other stands and if East, West and South are expanded then they likely need to completely remodel the whole roof and support structure which I imagine would be enormously expensive, especially for the "cheap" seats. It's why I think any increase of this scale would require additional boxes/corporate spaces to make it profitable - and even then it would require a strong business case/demand.

If you leave the trusses in place at both ends then any extension of the East would just require it's own cantilevered roof, the rest remains the same. Will change the clean design though.

Only issue here is the higher roof line facing into the river and coping with the winds that it would face. I'd envisage this would need to be engineered to death to cope.

It could be slanted down like the East stand at Elland Road so the leading edge wouldn't necessarily have to be any higher than what is there now.

A third tier would usually have a greater angle of rake, but in our case that would put it beyond the allowed 35 degrees. It would mean that any new rows would have to be added to the back of the existing upper tier. Might make the view a bit ropey seeing you lose the opportunity to overhang the existing structure to pull the spectators closer.

All that said, probably zero chance of it ever being done as the club would lose a lot of the plaza. The North Stand will be where any structural changes take place, it's possible we could add nearly 6k without dramatically changing the look of the stadium.

Nice article about someone on BBC buying a ticket off Seatsnet for the Villa game, ended up being a ClubView Seat, and it cost them £120 (less than youd pay with seat unique).

But my initial thoughts were, would this have happened if people could transfer to friends and family etc outside of a set few?
