Didn't the league rule that City's legal costs would not impact their PSR position?

Whilst we're at it, can we sue Chelsea for the Martinez 72 point season? Oh, and can we sue the league for giving us illegal advice on the Iceland thing? 'Your loss' they said. Should have just terminated his contract. Yeah, and he'd have sued us, we'd have had to pay him in full, as well as our own and his legal expenses. Ultimately ending up even worse off. They said it was our fault for not sacking him though and paying him what we were legally obliged to. No mitigation at all they said.

Ive no idea, but id like confirmation if it is the case, if we were fined £50 mill we wouldn't have to sell Branthwaite or Illy for PSR.

Personally think its a very weak case Burnley have.

But i trust authorities with football governance not a lot.

That said I think Burnley are really misadviced taking this on.

Surely we’d be allowed to treat it as an exceptional item and not include in PSR calcs…..seeing as how we’ve already been punished for the offence and lost what €10m in prize money ?!

I'm trying to just pretend it's not happening tbh. If it does affect PSR, I'd rather take another deduction than have a fire sale. It didn't finish us off when we were on our knees, with an unfinished stadium and an absentee owner, so bring it on if it comes to that

I don’t know to be honest, exceptional items are included as far as I know, I don’t think it’s happened before - certainly on the scale of the £50 mill Burnley are seeking. Even if it wasn’t it’s prob one fifth of the clubs annual income - which is a face ache if compensation came to pass.

Like I say I think Burnley’s case in wish washy, but I don’t trust authorities when it comes To football governance.

Burnley 'specifically' ban A4 Premier League protest cards and flags for Everton match​

The away day guide for Burnley on Everton’s official website contains the following statement in the stadium information section: “Travelling Evertonians should be aware that Burnley Football Club have informed us that no flags or A4 sized cards will be allowed inside their stadium. Burnley FC have specifically asked us to pass on this information, adding that any flags or A4 cards attempted to be taken into Turf Moor will be confiscated.”

Funny thing here is I think the PL will do them here. I’d say the PL have told us to go to court and then lobbied as a billions pounds national industry authorities behind the scenes to laugh Burnley of court.

They won’t give a stuff about us or Burnley of course but they won’t want the precedent and cans of worms this opens with the City multi year and Chelsea cases.

Corruption could work in our favour for once.

I would say they can be arsed with it based on that we have been working with a lawyer on it for the last 6 months.

I assume he means can they be bothered letting it go to a judgement, we'd have needed a lawyer regardless so that doesn't really mean anything.

I just cant see how it can be proven mate, the case hinges on the time of the punishment - at the time the PL rules didn't state the punishment had to be in the same season, they did change the following season for our second breach, but the season Burnley are calling into question - there was nothing to state in the rules that punishment had to be that season - in fact it was impossible - as our breach occurred on the 1st of July that year.

Nothing but pure opportunistic claim by chancers. As well as focussing on the season in question I also hope our team highlight the number of times Burnley have been relegated. It hasn’t been just one season so what was their excuse for the other seasons?
